My NC State fan story

I got to fly in for the game yesterday- had a great time/heart attack. Today I'm in Fort Mill eating lunch and a lady walks up to me. She smiles and said,"we almost beat y'all. Clemson shoulda lost."
I smiled back and said,"ma'am, I'd rather almost lose than lose."

Duh! What she said is true
You may have watched the third best team in the country but I didn't.
Tigers better get their act together
Nine fumbles in two games! To many skilled players to win on luck!
State deserved to lose. They should never have put the game in the hands of a kicker who had already missed two kicks. Bad coaching

But who in the hell goes up and says something like that?

Isn't that the point? I mean when we lost to Auburn on the missed field goal I never said anything to Auburn fans about how "we should of won". Anyone that says that is a freaking moron.

Clemson should have lost? No, Clemson COULD have lost. State SHOULD have gotten blown out. A gift pick 6, and 3 turnovers ON THE FREAKING GOAL LINE. Score could have (should have?) been 45-10.

SEC in 1992 they played NC State often, and before SCAR left the ACC in 1971 they, of course, played NC State every year.
The SCAR/NC State games were much like the ECU/NC State games, sometimes laced with fights on and off the field.

I always try to treat the fans of other teams with respect, grace and some self depreciating humor. That always leaving me feeling good about myself and Clemson and I think creates the best impact on others. There is not much harm in telling a State fan they played really well and we sure were lucky at the end. All that is true. And we left with the "W" and they left with the "L". I think saying "Nice game" to the loser is simple sportsmanship.
Of course, for a close friend who is a state fan you can twist the knife a little, but only if you can take it when they have a chance to twist back when they are the victors.
Go Tigers!!

Give them a break, they are kind of like Coots; don't have much to ever get happy about.
