Your argument is based on perception. I’m just giving you the facts.

Monte was the head coach when they won the conference championship. That’s pretty straightforward.

ill-informed the TS is regarding Clemson football. It's very likely, if it were possible to pour all of his knowledge about football into a thimble, he'd be hard pressed to fill it. Don't despair thread starter, your display of remedial knowledge is a trait you share with most of the members in this thread. Those who dismiss and distort Bowden's tenure as HC reveal their ignorance & confirm they have no clue of the program's decadent state before his arrival.

Difference is, for all Tommy’s problems getting over the hump, he DEFINITELY improved the program while here. Monte has absolutely not done that

Yes, Monte needs to go. Five of Clemson's last 6 outs were Ks. Against C of C's 5th or 6th pitcher. Also left the bases loaded twice and gave up way too many 2-out hits. Neff will probably pull another Brownell and fix the problem with a letter.

Strikeouts get on my nerves as well but that 5th or 6th pitcher might be the best pitcher in college baseball. He has the #2 era in the nation. Soph from Chapin. Fairly certain we didnt offer but not positive. He wore us out last year too.

That number 5 or 6 pitcher as you called him is William Privette. He is their closer and he boasts the number two ERA in the country. He was not offered by Clemson, USC, or even Furman ( yes they had a baseball team then) out of high school. Why? Because he sat 84-86 mph. He was 20-25 lbs lighter, and he had a below average breaking ball. He was the number 4 pitcher at best on his high school team. Maybe their number 5. C of C took a chance on him and it has paid off big time for them. Has turned into a big time stopper.

C of C is pretty dang good this year and their roster has some very good SC guys on it. Besides Privette, Trotter Harlan was the SC Gatorade POY and state player of the year in high school and is from Hillcrest high in Simpsonville, Tanner McCallister was the SC POY his senior year at Dorman High, Jared Kirven ( 4 rbi's last night) is from Lexington High, was an all-state catcher who was a Clemson commit who switched to C of C, JT Marr was an all-state player at Ft Mill High and went to Florence-Darlington JUCO then C of C, and Joseph Merson was an all-state player at Eastside high in Greenville. Ty Goode is their Friday starter and he threw late last night. He is from South Point High in Rock Hill and was an all-state player. Their SS is Cam Dean and he was an all-state player at St James High in Myrtle beach. They beat Texas earlier in the year and they have already won the Colonial Athletic Conference. They took 2 of 3 from East Carolina earlier this year and swept Northeastern who took one from Clemson in a 3 game set. Besides a bad week early in the year they have been consistently good. Not a terrible mid week loss. Clemson probably hit the ball harder but the bases loaded line out double play was a back breaker. Its called baseball. Cruel game sometimes. Not the end of the world!

Against C of C 5h or 6th pitcher? Do you even watch baseball dude? That kid that pitched the final 3 innings for them is one of the best arms in college baseball and will most certainly be a first round draft pick. That dude sports an ERA well under .50 which is godly....That dude struck out the final 8 hitters he faced in our first match up with C of C....I am by no means defending Clemson's lost or Monte here but you have to give credit where its due some time....Chad Holbrook's fat @ss doesnt deserve to have that sort of talent on any team he coaches.

You sir are absolutely correct. Not sure why folks feel the need to make wildly inaccurate comparisons. Why not let Lee's record stand on its own?

Bowden improved the program from the Tommy West doldrum days but could not get over the hump.
Lee has brought the fading program in the late Leggett stages to even lower levels.
