Mentioned Tiger FB Team played a bit uptight Sat.....

Wondered how you felt about this possibility. Of course, not winning for 3 years and trying too hard will cause this!

What say you?!

I think that had something to do with Tajh maybe looking

Nov 30, 2012, 3:34 PM

through his reads and trying to find the downfield guy instead of the open guy sometimes. Also, with abandoning the run. Felt like we had to score too fast instead of just doing what we do. We really needed to run the ball straight at Clowney and didn't for whatever reason. He was obviously told to spy on Tajh and never even really attempted to tackle AE when he ran right by him because he was so focused on the the QB draw. I don't know if it was being uptight, but more of trying to force things later in the second half.

Very, Very Excited. Very, Very Proud.

Not only the football team, but the coaching staff as well.
However, being at home, and knowing what was at stake, playing tight is,imo, more troublesome than losing to a more physical team.
I think most would agree that the ##### were a more physical team, but I do not think they are any more/less talented.
Still,if we played uptight in our own back yard,I wonder how tHat bodes for next year when we have to travel to Willie B.

We played very tight. Dabo, Boyd, and possibly Morris were all off their game Sat. night. The game plan was not the same as the rest of the season and we went away from what we had been doing well. No runs, no screens, no hurry up, no jet sweeps, no forcing the ball to our play makers. Also Boyd was trying to pull the ball down before going through his progression and locked on to his receivers. I know some of this was because of SCar but we started the game making many of these mistakes and it became a self fulfilling prophesy.

It had nothing to do with being tight and everything to do

with playing a team that wa simply better, tougher and more aggressive.

That was true the last two years. This years game was different and I came away confused more than anything. That was not the same Clemson team that played the other 11 games and I am still not convinced that they are the better team.

Don't worry guys we will go through enough excuses we will finally find one that works!

i'm more inclined to think it was our offensive philosophy

Nov 30, 2012, 7:07 PM

to try and show that we are physical, too. we didn't see the normal amount of "window dressing" that our offensive system employs. we had nowhere near the usual amount of motion that we usually run,pre-snap, nor the trick plays. i do think maybe a little tight, too. trying a little to hard (pushing,if you will)
