Happy Star Wars day nerds! I say nerd as a term of endearment. I’ll never forget that day in 1977 when the greatest franchise of all time kicked off. I begged my way to go see Star Wars in 1977 thirty-five times! Every neighbor, friend and family member that went I made sure to tag along. Twelve of those viewings were at a drive-in theatre. Those were the days!

I still want to save the princess and destroy the empire. I still want to be Han Solo and yield the force. I’m ready and waiting to buy my Millennium Falcon. I do have a few 1/6th scale toy Falcons. I also have quite the museum of Star Wars toys. My wife says it’s enough to retire. She’s not wrong!

Part of my collection includes many prop helmets. I’ve come so close to painting and decorating a Vader, Mandalorian, Storm trooper, or Boba Fett helmet in Clemson regalia to wear to home games. I just can’t bring myself to desecrate such a nice collectible. That and poor visibility hold me back.

I included some of my collection and a photo of my wife and I at our Darth Vader meet and greet at Disney. I was over the moon and my wife was just over it! 😂

Happy 4th. Also a Star Wars nerd although I admit the last several movies haven’t really done it for me. Maybe I outgrew it or more likely disney ruined it. Saw in the theater as a 6 year old and was hooked. I will say that the ride at disney is incredible. Got to take my girls a couple years ago and it was fantastic.
