Trading UM for UL was a no-brainer win-win in my opinion.
Good riddance Twerps. Have fun "tailgating" in the snow.

dollar sports company that can act as a solo fundraising arm of the athletic department?
Of course, OK State has T Boone Pickens and Louisville has Papa John--it doesn't even have to be a sports company...

at which time his son Cody assumed control of the company until its sale in 2011 (I believe).
I think Cody now owns the Twin Peaks restaurant chain.

I'm not sure, but I almost think someone just compared Kate Upton to UL. Let's hope their medication starts working soon.

with them doing it in yearly installments with interest until it is paid off.
This all sounds like it is pandering to the future judges that will decide if they have to pay the $50m or not. Screw their budget, if they couldn't afford to move, they should have stayed.
I don't buy a $200,000 house to rent out if I can't afford to make the down payment, even if I think it can make me money renting it out in the long run.

The thing that gets me is the continual talk about the Big 5 conferences breaking off and forming their own division so they can govern themselves. They want to do this so they can potentially pay athletes.
Not every school in the Big 5 as the athletic budget to pay athletes. Maryland is broke. I can't imagine schools like Wake Forest have the budget to pay athletes either.

I keep hearing that the "big boys" keep getting held back by the rest of D1 football because all of their votes have equal weight. But other than the $EC's teams wanting to have a portion of their players' payments taxable, I don't know what rules the "big boys" want that they can't because of the Kent States of the world.
