I’ve really enjoyed seeing Mafah carry the ball so effortlessly. I lived the majority of my life in Summerville and only witnessed greatness on the field when AJ Green (receiver) ran in open space. He always seemed to have just a sixth sense about when to make a cut on a defender. Mafah has that same gift. Not sure it’s something you can teach or coach. Ship plays hard but doesn’t seem to have the fineness or refinement that Phil shows every week. Really glad we have such a special talent.

Grew up in Ladson. Watched AJ torch us a few times. As for Mafah and Ship. 2 totally different backs. Ship likes to juke and dance and tries to make the defender miss. Doing this the hole often closes up on him. Get him in the open field and he can make majic. Mafah is a power runner. Likes to deliver the hit and has an eye for the hole and hits it quickly. My selfishness hopes he comes back for one more year but will understand if he goes pro.

Mafah's coming back. Wouldn't mind seeing Shipley declare, but that's wishful thinking after his last play. He's going to have to prove his worth to get a decent draft position.

He's welcome to come back but I know the coaching staff would play the second best back. Mafah's just better. I didn't want to believe it a year ago but the Notre Dame game absolutely proved it.

I don't care for the antics and "emotion"--he's not firing the team up, he's playing the "pick me" girl.

We need both. I prefer having a tandem splitting 30 -35 carries a game, keeping fresh legs in the game.
For the players, they are less prone to injury before starting their shot with the NFL.
