The board is so much more fun after a big win, and so depressing after a loss. It should be pretty fun times around here for a while

Sadly, it has been very depressing after wins this year.

Some people had to ridicule players instead of celebrating the wins. Hopefully they will remain missing for awhile.

You're so right. There were times I would read the board; and then have to go to the SI scoreboard, to make sure we had won.

Hmmm? So we managed to beat ONE out of FOUR Top 25 teams (and O-FER Top 20 teams) and you're actually asking this question? Sweet.
Finally beating a FIVE-LOSS sc team after 5 losses probably won't get much of a rise out of 'realistic' fans I reckon. BUT - it's better than the alternative, and I'm glad Dabo finally got the monkey off of his back. And - we won't have to get a bigger clock. I didn't want to call London to see if they had one.

marlborocountycoot = tigerfanjack = Clemson_Alumnus. I wondered where you were. I hadn't seen this post in a while. Maybe you won't have to use it again until next year.

There's a good explanation for that . . .
Dec 1, 2014, 2:08 PM
|
|
(a) even critics (real ones, not the trollers) still want the Tigers to win, and still enjoy it when they do. and (b) if people launched into heavy criticism in the immediate wake of a big win, the response would be "see, you're unhappy win or lose!" So, it's ###(n)ed if you do and ###(n)ed if you don't.
There are trollers, and their are coot imposters. But there are also folks who have something legitimate gripes who just know when it's the right time and when it's not.

And they know how to word their criticism. There's objective criticism and the just plain hateful stuff.

This ^^
I've been critical on occasion but if we criticize the correct way, we don't get td.
Some don't understand that concept.
I was critical during the game on Saturday and didn't get td even once. (Now some one will find that thread and give me a td) lol

I'll bite...still pissed at the loss to GT

And some of the points we left on the field against the coots on Saturday. Flame on, don't care. If we want to be in the top 4 talk, we've got to be better offensively in the trenches and have a better overall command of the line of scrimmage with our play calling. To this day, we still haven't been able to really put [the good] teams away. Luckily, Sakerlina's D made our line look like the Patriots. Hats off to our boys for showing the #### up and taking care of business. That level of play should be what is expected and demanded out of our guys every game. Winning is the expectation around here now and accepting nothing short of that shouldn't get you chastised by the members of your own fanbase, IMO.
There's no problem with wanting your team to reach its full potential while still celebrating and taking away the positives. For those of us who played at any level, I'd think, it's in our DNA to find areas of improvement, as a national title--at least for me--is the ultimate goal. Understandably, this year I didn't have too high of expectations in terms of bringing home any hardware, so I'm very impressed with the body of work our guys put together given the injuries, QB situation, and rebuilding in our offensive backfield. Watching our defense this year was truly a treat and luckily we get one more game in late December to see em do it one more time.
Just because we beat SC doesn't mean it's all unicorns and fairies over here now bro. This team still has a lot of work to do to consistently be in the playoff talk. Getting over this hump should help, along with the young, young talent we have on O. But don't kid yourself, next year we have a lot to replace on D and in the locker room. I trust Dabo to make the right personnel decisions and our boys to put in the work in the spring to continue this progression, of sorts, to the CFP.
The future's bright and it's been one of the best Mondays in recent memory. Go Tigers!!

I agree 100%. It's not unicorns and farries. But, Dabo did get that monkey off.
I didn't have high expectations this year either. I predicted about 9 wins before the season. The thread is somewhere. Right now we're at 9 but without all the injuries, I believe we'd be at 10 right now. Either way, I'm happy with 9 wins considering all we lost off the O due to graduation and declaring for the draft plus all the injuries.
I think Dabo and staff did a pretty good job this year.
We have a head coach that is still learning and growing, I think the future is bright although there will still be more mistakes made.
As far as SC, I truly believe the Tide is turning. Spurrier had a head start on Dabo and although I despise Spurrier, he is a HOF coach.

I called for a Tiger win if we would run the football- check.
I also expressed concern over Watson's knee before the game and before we all knew he had a torn acl.
