After Ward and DJ visited last week the buzz was Ward was #1 choice and DJ #2. DJ was ready to commit, but FSU didn't offer because they were waiting on Ward. Ward makes his decision earlier today. Less than 2 hours later DJ announces.
Time will tell.

Hope the Clemson discard works for you as it started our spiral downward. He at least is a 4 year guy now with probably a better coach putting him in a better position to be successful. Bo jangles paid him for us and I’m sure you guys are paying him now. He has bilked the system well with Big Dave’s advice

May as well get it while he can, because he sure as heck isn’t getting it in the NFL

Norvall couldn’t take the success, so he signed DJ to help bring losses back to Tallahassee.

Bret, y’all are getting an all American punter and a quarterback that will be sixth best in the ACC.
Please note, I’m not a hater. I like DJ. Talked with him in person once. Great guy. Big arm. He’s just not a good quarterback.

Will he bat too, or only pitch?

He took more blame here than he caused but he isn't elite either. Going to be interesting to watch.

Get control of his diet. Today. If you let him he will report at 305. Also be prepared to bench him by week 4 or so. He is a capable backup at best.

Well from a Clemson perspective, we are glad you got DJ rather than Cam Ward.
Sorry, but DJ hasn’t shown any improvement. In a PAC-12 conference that has even worse defense than the ACC.
Although Cade’s ceiling is probably higher, I will though admit that DJ is a better option than Cade.
Had us in position to get to a playoff, even though it was a struggle.

Interesting bet for the Seminoles. DJU has had the benefit of four years old big-time college football. Three years at Clemson and one year at Oregon state. Lots of experience. Certainly better than anything on the roster in Tallahassee.
FSU is demonstrating their philosophy that there will always be someone available in the portal to fill the void and it is cost effective to pay for the fifth year senior rather than give the keys to a freshman (unless that freshman is RS Jameis Winston)
Unlikely to hit home runs with the remainder of portal talent unless they are tampering / poaching players for the Spring portal window. Talent in the general pool is not high.

Seems like a definite upgrade for FSU at QB, giving what they have….. With DJ at QB I bet FSU beats Louisville by at least another TD…

He's no Bo Nix but experience does have its advantages. He is 30-10 as a starter with 2 good programs. If FSU gives him time, he can find receivers. I still think his biggest weakness is between the ears but if he is your best option then you go with what you have. It will make for a fun game between us next season.

Ward declared for the draft, but did NOT hire an agent. Sounds like he is

lobbying for a better NIL deal than he was getting, and maybe the Noles called him on it? Of course, that is all just suppository. He may actually go to the NFL. We won't know until he turns in the official paperwork ahead of that Jan 15 deadline.

One rumor I've heard is Auburn is recruiting him.

Could be a bidding war between Auburn and Miami or just Auburn meeting his price not to go to NFL.

Brock Glenn is a true freshman. He broke his hand in September and missed 6 weeks of practice. He will be a redshirt freshman next year.
We also recruited Luke Kroemenhoek this year. He will enroll in January. He was a 4-star/5-star recruit depending on which service is used.
The hope was Rodemaker would improve and be the starter next year, or Glenn would improve so quickily he would beat out Rodemaker. But, the broken hand on Glenn and the missed practices means you can't count on him being ready in August to take the reins.
So, we need a 1-and-doner and then have Luke and Brock battle for starting job in 2025.

I know absolutely nothing about the FSU depth chart or their 2024 schedule, but is this a Trevor Lawerence/ Kelly Bryant situation. You likely have a better option in the works, they just need a few more weeks of practice. Trying to find a way to get you through September with a 3-1 or better record?

If it's any consolation he wasn't our first choice either.***
