Living in South Carolina or Louisiana?

Dec 27, 2012, 1:01 PM

While South Carolians have access to beaches along the coast and mountains in the upstate (aka God's Country), poor Louisiana has bayou swamp lands.

MAJOR HEAVY DUTY BIG-TIME ADVANTAGE: The State of South Carolina

What's cool about Breaux Bridge?

Not a flame...I've never been to LA.

Not that Columbia isnt, but still.

Columbia is a beauty compared to New Orleans. Don't

The fair comparison to Nola is Charleston...

New Orleans is one of the best cities I've visitied,

It is pretty sad that you can't talk trash about football that you resort to state trash talking.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL, hypocrite much?

Dec 27, 2012, 2:37 PM

Pretty sad we can't talk football and have to listen to your delusional rants about your team.

What is it you like to say...truth hurts? Lol...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have compared position talent,

Dec 27, 2012, 2:47 PM

matchups, etc...I have tried to talk football on here plenty. Only responses I get are "you are wrong" "you are inbred" "Katrina" "corndogs"

Clemson fanbase apparently doesn't like to talk football and is also extremely unoriginal.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

your comparisons are laughable, though

Dec 27, 2012, 4:16 PM

and you keep posting them over and over knowing it will start flame wars.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Comparisons are very accurate

Dec 27, 2012, 4:25 PM [ in reply to your comparisons are laughable, though ]

I have not seen one decent point by a Clemson fan proving anything otherwise.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and most of us don't think your points are "decent" either

Dec 27, 2012, 4:54 PM

So I guess that leaves us at an impasse. Just saying that your secondary has one All-American doesn't mean that, going up against Sammy Watkins and Nuke Hopkins, plus a couple of other big play guys, makes the matchup a "push." Looking at what you've given up through the air lately should also tell you that Clemson should have an advantage (on paper, of course) against LSU's secondary.

I think you were also the one who said Clemson either didn't have an advantage at QB, or that Clemson's advantage was only slight, because Mettenberger had been "playing better" lately. But Tajh Boyd was named a first team AFCA All American, while Mettenberger isn't one of the better QBs in his own division. Andre Ellington is clearly better than any one of LSU's backs, and I don't recall you saying Clemson had the advantage there either.

Realistic fans know that LSU has clear advantages on the lines, although Clemson's OL isn't terrible and Clemson's DL has done a passable job against the run. That's why most people think this game will be decided by which team is able to disrupt the other team's QB more, and whether either team can make the other one dimensional. Clemson will almost certainly lose if Boyd doesn't get time to throw the ball and its secondary keeps giving up big plays. LSU will almost certainly lose if Mettenberger is off target and timing and Clemson's offense is able to get in a rhythm. But you make it sound like LSU is superior in all phases of the game, which just isn't true. And it's obvious.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep, his points are delusional <look that word up bayoutabby

Dec 27, 2012, 5:06 PM

No one on here should even discuss FB with you b/c to start, all of your comparisons are a joke. You say you wait for someone to refute them but how can anyone even begin to debate something with a landslide bias of their team? It's like trying to negotiate a price on something with the seller having their goods marked up 200%...you being the seller. A reasonable middle ground will never be reached.

Poor Louisiana?

Dec 27, 2012, 2:35 PM

South Carolina median income $42,442
Louisiana median income $42,492

South Carolina unemployment 11%
Louisiana 7.6%

South Carolina debt per capita $8,013
Louisiana debt per capita $7,098

Also, you act like the entire state of Louisiana is covered in swamp lands. That is an incredibly uninformed and inaccurate statement. You should come here before you insult an entire state you know nothing about.

Both have Indian governors.

If I had to pick anywhere else to live in the country, I would seriously look hard at lower Alabama or Louisiana. I love me some bayou. The folks in those parts are awesome as well. Getting to New Orleans on occasion is big plus as well, imho. I love that city.

Re: Living in South Carolina or Louisiana?

Dec 27, 2012, 4:59 PM

My experience with New Orleans is as follows: We first stopped at a 7-11 store on the outskirts and noticed liquor on the shelves for sale. At 2 am there was a guy staggering down Bourbon St. with a woman under each arm holding him up and a bottle of liquor in each hand. They were singing at the top of their voices. The cops smiled and nodded at them as they staggered by. All the clubs along bourbon st. were overflowing with live music. Once you drive two blocks away, it becomes a ghetto to middle class neighborhood...depending on which way you drive. Coffee is strong enough and thick enough that you can stand your spoon up in it unsupported!.lol

Re: Living in South Carolina or Louisiana?

Dec 27, 2012, 11:03 PM

This really is a silly argument. I grew up in Louisiana and have seen almost all of it. I have also worked in several places in every geographical region in South Carolina. I can tell many of you have never been to Louisiana and probably haven't seen as much of South Carolina's diversity as I have. You can't form an opinion of a place based upon a movie that wasn't filmed there.

Re: Living in South Carolina or Louisiana?

Dec 27, 2012, 11:33 PM

Why do you talk about access to beaches? Unless you live on the beach or mountains in South Carolina, you have to travel to them. There are great beaches along the southern coast of Alabama and Florida, which is a short drive away for South Louisianians.

So Louisianians have access to great beaches, too.

And the city of New Orleans is one of the best and most interesting cities in the country, in my opinion.

I'd rather live in Louisiana, and it is really a no-brainer to me. South Carolina is beautiful, but Louisiana is just more fun to live in.
