Leggett + Microphone = hmmmm

For Leggett to even inject himself into this coaching change at all speaks volumes as to what it must have been like for Lee trying to run “his” program.
Too far, too often these ego-maniacle coaches make themselves bigger than the program. Reminds me of Frank Broils I’ve at Arkansas…then you have the Paternoster and Bowdens who stay WAY past their shelf lives…why? Ego..they view themselves as being the program.
It must have been awful for Monte Lee trying to lead the team with that doofus Leggett hanging around…
These clowns all should read history and learn what our first President, George Washington (my favorite) did when he left office voluntarily…he really left!
In my opinion, Leggett should have been fired much sooner than when he was and we CERTAINLY don’t need to be subjected to his public statements regarding how thrilled he is NOW with this hire vs the sense of exclusion over the past 7 years. What a jerk! Get lost Leggett!
My .02 cents

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! ALL OF THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Leggett needs to stay away from this program forever. I bet you deep down when Vandy came to town for the Regionals... truth be known Leggett was pulling for Corbin to beat us. Now he wants to sneak back in the door? Nah, we don't need or want you anymore Jackie Leggett. Your time is up here. Get out of Clemson.
If Leggett is involved again then Bakich will be looking for a new job in 3 years.

A lot of people on here think Leggett was bigger than the program.

And no one wants to talk about how he had 2-3 teams at CofC that were better than most of his teams at Clemson. Seems like Monte was never allowed to be himself at Clemson.

1. Leggett has not been around the program in 7 years. Yesterday was his first time even walking in the new facility. 2. Neff is the one who invited him. I’d hardly call that injecting himself into the program. 3. I guess you think Dabo should not have invited Danny Ford back in to be part of Clemson football again either.

for a coach who won 955 games for Clemson and took them to the College World Series 6 times and to 11 super regionals and to the playoffs all but one year. Are we gonna treat Dabo like this some day?

Unfortunately yes. There are already quite a few sharpening knives after only winning 10 last year.

That's a shame ppl are that way. And sadly there are a bunch like that. I've always said, and I'll stand by it for the rest of my days, that I'd take a half empty stadium of full blooded, loyal, die hard fans over a jam packed stadium with half of them being coat tail riding, bandwagon, only here for the good times kinda 'fans'.

Have you ever actually spent time around Coach Leggett?

He’s a really nice guy. He’s not the type to interfere.
He was an intense coach at times, but I can guarantee you that he didn’t prevent Lee from doing his job.
As others have said, Jack was involved this week because Neff asked him to be. I thought it was a brilliant move by Neff.

but I took my son, BigAl, to Leggett's summer camps from 2006 to '09. He was very involved and was even at the tables during check in. He would help a lot of the kids and seemed to have a great relationship with his players and other coaches that were working the camps.
He also talked to the group of parents and relatives at the end of the sessions. We were at the day camps since my parents lived nearby in Central where I grew up and I stayed and watched the camp sessions. One year before camp, I got my mom to take some paperwork down to Jervey and she said she actually got to talk to Jack and he was very friendly and nice to her.
On a side note, we were about 10 feet behind Danny Ford one year during check in who was apparently there with his grandson. He must have had hip or knee problems at the time as he walked with a bit of a limp. So Danny and Jack apparently had a good relationship too.
