Last 3 bowl games

Jan 16, 2015, 8:38 AM

In your own opinion. What bowl game was the best to witness in person or on TV? I made it to the LSU game a few years back, didn't get to make it to Miami for Ohio St. I did get to make it to see us run through Oklahama which was pretty impressive. In your own opinion which bowl game do you think changed the outlook on Clemson from non Clemson fans, and which game just made you proud to be a Tiger?

In my opinion it has to be LSU. LSU came in as one of the top dogs in the almighty SEC. We were underdogs, and Sammy got hurt on the 2nd play. We also had a turnover right after that and I told myself it was about to get ugly for us. Boy was I wrong! Clemson went on to beat LSU and Nuk became a Clemson legend that night. Tajh put on a show too and when Chandler kicked that ball through the uprights, Tajh pops just started crying, I went up and hugged the guy and told him congrats! It gave me chills because if your a fan a football period games like the LSU game just hits something in your heart. Although I didn't cry myself, that game was definitely was an emotional ride. One hell of a game! The Oklahoma beat down is 2nd for me just because the way we beat them, and the way we finished the season with momentum coming into 2015 it's about to be a hell of a ride Clemson fans!

Witnessing that 35 yd dart to Nuk to save the game in Atlanta was maybe the best thing I have ever seen in person at a Clemson Football game. I was high on that for a week. We stayed in the team hotel and the party that night was unreal. Seeing Sammy on crutches the following morning at checkout I said to myself , cannot wait til August . What a game .

The most impressive win was Ohio St. but I would agree LSU was the best game. Amazing to see our team come back from such a difficult start. With out the TB turnovers we could be ridding a 3 game bowl blowout streak as well as we play every year.

I was at the Lsu game and The Ohio State . We had tickets a couple rows behind the Lsu bench so I was surrounded by Lsu fans . At the begin of the game would say things like we are going to show you what the sec is all about today etc so when we can back in won it was a lot of fun throwing the whole sec thing in their face

No doubt for me it was LSU. That was a match up of two full grown teams of full grown young men that was knocking the living chit out of each other. Even though the score board said we won, I say we were evenly matched with a display of brute force from both teams. Both teams deserved the win, and I'm glade it was us winning on the score board, Goooo Tigerssss!!!

I attended all three....

Jan 16, 2015, 8:55 AM

and I'll have to go with the OB win over Ohio State only because it was a BCS Bowl but the 4th quarter come back win over LSU in the Peach Fil-A Bowl would be a very close second.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I would trade the osu game for the lsu game

Jan 16, 2015, 8:58 AM

In a heartbeat.

I enjoyed the osu game but that 4th and 16 is legendary.

Legend.........wait for it....

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

The ending to the LSU game was by far the best, but the Ohio state game was my favorite because I can't hardy stand them and Meyer. The Oklahoma game was great also. It was great to see our defense play so well and see Cole have a great game to end his career

Re: Last 3 bowl games

Midway of the third quarter of the LSU game is where things took a turn for that Clemson team. That is the point where that team "grew up" and they played as a team in both sides of the ball.

Many will remember the 4th and 16 play, and it should be remembered because its on of the best plays in the history of the program, but the third quarter was the turning point. It was not only the turning point for that game, but for the Clemson program in general.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The LSU win was the affirmation of "Clemson is coming".

Jan 16, 2015, 10:35 AM

Not to take away from everybody involved, but if ANY QB EVER put a team on his back, it was TaJh Boyd pounding away and leaving that field strewn with future NFLers... It was also the coming out party for our D.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LSU was the best game hands down.

Jan 16, 2015, 10:43 AM

OSU was good but the refs ruined it. I can't even watch a replay of that game without getting high blood pressure.

Jan 16, 2015, 1:11 PM

That was just the chick fil a bowl. Orange bowl meant a whole lot more.

Maybe to the media... Not to the program.***

Jan 16, 2015, 1:37 PM [ in reply to I would say orange bowl. LSU was nice but ]

Yep, Orange Bowl for sure. We didn't have a prayer of beating them either. The OSU fans were in shock afterward. Keep in mind they were in the running for the Natty until the MSU game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have never seen a QB play a better game

Jan 16, 2015, 5:06 PM

Than Tajh did against LSU, no matter how hard he was going to get hit he played his heart out and left it out all on the field. That plus not only Sammy's injury but we had Tay suspended and 2 olinemen got injured so we played 102 snaps with really only 13-14 players on offense. You can also consider that the coming out party for our dline. The orange bowl against OSU was great for national recognition, but that LSU was even greater given all the circumstances.
