Path to the CFP

The Tigers need to take care of business in their remaining games and also need a lot of dominos to fall into place, but the good news is there IS a path to the top 4 for Clemson. Anything is possible in College Football. Here is what we need:
#8 Alabama - we can assume Bama will win their final 2 games, with two losses already on their board there is no way committee selects them over Clemson if we run the table and are the ACC Champs.
#7 USC - high likelihood they fall to either ND or UCLA otherwise need them to lose in PAC-12 Championship. History suggests they are a candidate to be upset.
#6 LSU - be real, they are not beating Georgia in SEC Championship game, so with 3 losses they will be out.
#5 Tennessee - two cupcakes to finish the season, yet no SEC Championship. However, will be a 1 loss team and have been the darlings of the media this year, so likely they sneak in.
#4 Michigan and #3 Ohio State - one obviously will take the loss in their head to head battle. A blow out would almost certainly knock the loser out of the top 4 contention. A close game could leave the losing team higher than us by the committee, but still think an ACC Championship would give us the edge. Pulling for a blow out.
#2 TCU - Baylor could play spoiler, if not need TCU to fall in Big-12 Championship, which is very possible. A loss wipes out any CFP chances they have, shortest leash of the current top 4.
#1 Georgia - while I would love to see Georgia fall in the regular season ,not happening with the two remaining tomato cans on their schedule. An LSU upset in the SEC Championship would be devastating to Clemson as that would put LSU in and Georgia is not falling out of the top 4 - so 2 slots would be filled. Need Georgia to beat LSU.
Go Clemson Tigers!

Good summation and I would agree. A close game between MI-OSU could muck it up. The committee does not have much respect for the ACC so not sure if that would be enough to keep us ahead of the MI-OSU loser in a close game. They say a conference championship matters in a close call so that will test that theory if it were to come down to that.

Baylor is all over the place this year, but they should be able to give them a game. I thought Texas was a good opportunity for a loss, but TCU controlled that one, despite the late scoop and score. "Go Dawgs!" Boy, need to go gargle with formaldehyde.

You cant assume a W in the ACCCG. I think we will win but is not a given as UNC is a scoring machine.

Would agree and add that it would probably be best that Michigan lose big to Ohio State than vice versa. They would have a bad resume, a blowout loss, and not even a division championship.
One scenario I was thinking about was 12-1 Clemson vs 11-1 UT. I would not feel good about our odds in that case. The problem is they are sitting at 5, and there isnt much chance they drop over their last 2 games. They can and probably will run the score up on SC and Vandy. I doubt we do that to either Miami or SC, which of course is a common opponent and another data point for comparison.
So if they simply win those games they're not going to drop from 5, which means we have to leap-frog them. Even if we blow out Miami and SC that wouldn't get us there. Only way that could happen is a decisive win against 11-1 UNC in the ACCCG.

Alabama is a non-issue Tennessee is our biggest concern as it could very easily be us vs. them for the 4th spot Georgia beating LSU is almost a must - unless LSU loses one before then USC will probably lose a game, but if they don't its close between them and us TCU losing would certainly help, but is not absolutely necessary depending on other outcomes OSU beating Michigan is probably better than vice-versa - especially if it is close
FSU and Notre Dame winning out would significantly help given that it would knock USC out and also take Florida down another step in the eyes of the committee.
UNC winning until them play us in the ACC Championship would be a plus.
