Mentioned by Dabo that he's torn hamstring like 8 times, doo he's finished.
CKU down a man, but Tyler is still around

Depth hurting b/c a slow and unathletic lb is leaving..? not sure he gives us much if he stays.

Take a look at the depth chart…… after all the transfers and the seniors leaving. With the amount of players coming in. Regardless of your opinion he’s still a player. What happens when you lose more players than you bring in? It may not seem like an issue now but if it keeps happening you will have depth problems. It will eventually catch up with you .

He kind of was, but not bad, but that easily could be due to always being injured and not 100%.

We will probably have 8 true LB's, with two of them being true freshman. That is pretty thin.

Was looking at the chart that you posted below. I am not sure that you wouldn't make it a little thinner. To me Tyler Venables is more in the DB end of the nickel back. I'm not sure that I would consider him a true LB.
The group is really strong if they can stay healthy. If the group gets hit by injuries. BV is going to have to perform some more magic.

That one safety we have coming in Sabb I think his name is, maybe be able to be able to play the nickel one day. He is 6 ft 2 and over 200lbs. Who knows? You know the staff has their plans.

I couldn't even imagine pulling the same hamstring EIGHT

TIMES. I only ever had one minor hamstring pull, and that was more than I wanted to deal with. I would think after 8 times, it might require surgery to ever get it reattached properly.

Jake is what college athletics should be about.
The primary purpose of an athletic scholarship SHOULD be to use it as an opportunity to earn a degree and prepare for a career. A tertiary purpose should be to prpeare for a future in professional sports.
Good for Jake.

Jake Venables, majoring in sports communication, hopefully he will get some OJT at some level at Clemson, and move to big time job talking sports somewhere!!!

when it comes to talents and future roles.
He certainly gave Clemson more than 110%, which is a fine credit to him and his family.
Proud of his accomplishments and wish him the best in his future endeavors!

Jake played at 110% any time he was on the field. I followed him closely any time he was playing. Hate to lose him as he would add great value if he were able to come back.

Much respect for Jake Venables

Jake has skills, and he gave 100%. Between his injuries and the likely emergence of Barrett Carter, Trotter and others at the LB position next year, he shows a deliberate and intelligent team-first approach. Wish him the best and props to his Dad and Mrs. V ... a lot to be proud of ...

If Jake was on the field he was always around the ball

He knew the defense as well as Skalski and was a very valuable piece being able to QB the D. Go watch any of the games Skalski was ejected. one of those times he came in and made 3 tackles in a row. Jake leaving is a loss.
