Yeah Bakich gave him a role in the team.

Apparently Monte never let him. But Leggett was fired for a reason. It’s a bit confusing.

The angry mob ran off Leggett in 2015 then the angry mob ran off Monte 7 years later so that Leggett could come back.

Jack actually had a seat in the stands directly above the dugout during Montes tenure , and was repeatedly warned about throwing candy at Monte during high pressure situations. Had to be distracting for Monte

I’m in no way justifying it or saying it was right, but Monte not letting Jack run into the team huddle any longer just because he was fired was a bush league move on Montes part

It appears everything Monte did was Bush League, especially in recruiting. It appears he landed on his feet though.
