Do we lead the nation in unearned runs? I don't think

Mar 4, 2014, 4:50 PM

I have ever seen a team make so many errors on what looks like easy plays.

As my wife said, she's seen better play from 12 year olds! AND SHE IS RIGHT!
THIS WILL BE A LONG, LONG SEASON AND MAYBE WHEN IT'S ALL OVER, MAYBE THE LIGHTS WILL GO ON, AND Leggett WILL BE GONE! WHAT A JOKE??

I've always hated the term

"Unearned runs". It's only unearned by the pitcher. The team earns then.

It is unearned for the offense...that's the point***

Cole @ Beach Cole w/ Clemson Hat

Agree. ERA is a pitcher's statistic so yes, the runs

against that pitcher are unearned as the pitcher did his job.

The offense has to out the ball in pay, or run to the base, or whatever. It's not jus a run that's put on the board without the offense doing anything either. Unearned by the pitcher (he did his job), earned by the team. If db misses a tackle, and the receiver runs to the end zone, is that an unearned td?
