Is Etienne the best Running Back in the NFL right now?

There are some good ones, but I cannot think of one better thus far this season.
Christian McCaffrey maybe?

and was very high last year !
it's crazy (and not surprising at all considering the 2021-2023 Tigers offense) that we only won one championship with ETN and TL16
coaching staff matters

Etienne also has played more games than everyone else, so the total yards stat is a bit misleading.
He’s having a great year and yes I’d say he’s one of the top backs in the league.
Last year he was 9th in yards but top 3, I think, in yards per carry. He just wasn’t scoring much with only 5 rushing TDs. He already has 7 this year.

On his TD run in the game last night, he looked like he did at Clemson, a man among boys.
He weaved through traffic and outran guys that were trying to get an angle on him.
The runs up the middle didn't work at all, though.

ETN will always be one of the greatest players to wear a Clemson jersey.
He did well catching the ball out of the backfield at Clemson but I think CMC is the better "dual threat" back.
Pound for pound though, there isn't a better combination of speed, agility, vision and toughness in the NFL. He can turn a crease into a gap in an instance and his ability to ahed tacklers is top tier. Give him the same OL as SF and he may have a 2000 yard season.
When he is tired of making defenders look stupid, he can come and coach the backs at Clemson with CJ.

McCaffery is better between the tackles but he also seems to get banged up more often - maybe because they run him between the tackles more often.

ETN and Lawrence hid our lack of a good offensive scheme and coordinator during that time. How many times did ETN have to reverse the field to pick up yardage. How many times did Trevor have to scramble to get a receiver open. We have not had a great offensive coordinator since Chad Morris. He created offense out of nothing at times with his scheme. This is before the time of many of the newbies.

Let's pump the brakes on Morris creating something out of nothing.
Morris' "nothing" included:
5 future NFL WRs, 3 of which are near the top in Clemson history in raw talent and 2 first round draft picks.
A RB with a solid NFL career.
A TE with a solid NFL career.
A QB who was one of the toughest players around who didn't mind getting knocked around a little bit behind a shaky OL in order to get the ball to all of the above mentioned superstars.
Morris fell on his face in multiple games in 2014 with Stoudt at QB.

I'd say he's top 3 for sure. They've got to slow down using him though or he will be gassed by the postseason.

He's been absolutely fantastic, but yeah, as others said, the Jags lean heavily on him so he has way more carries than everyone else. He's elite but definitely not the best running back in the league. That's probably Achane (his consistent explosiveness has been unreal this season) or McCaffrey (best all arounder). Then I'd say Chubb, Zach Moss, and Swift make up the rest of the top 5 and are still ahead of ETN. But ETN is likely #6, which is incredible.

He does not have way more carries. He has 17 more than McCaffrey with 1 more game played.

These are the top 10 backs in the league based on number of rushing attempts.
I added their receptions to their rushes, and then ranked them by rush+rec per game:
McCaffrey 22.2
Zack Moss 22.0
Jacobs 22.0
Etienne 21.6
Pollard 20.2
David Montgomery 20.0
Mixon 18.7
Kyren Williams 18.3
Henry 18.2
Pierce 17.7
I don't think Etienne's usage is an issue.
