Have to agree with Pollack

Dabo is going to have to change his mindset about the portal. Watching other games where transfers are making a difference on teams.
I understand his perspective but you have to adapt with the game in my opinion.

In the future, perhaps. This past year, no way.

There was not a single player in the portal who would have viewed himself as a potential starter before the season.
We had potential starters quitting because they were afraid they might not start.
Only malcontents transfer when there is not a clear path to a starting position with another school.
As things evolve, Dabo May very well have to change because the game has changed.
That doesn’t make his philosophy wrong. But, it may impact his strategy going forward.

was assured he would at Ohio State. Repeat, he transferred in order to start at QB.
I can’t speak to anyone named Sermon.

Guess only Bama, Georgia, and Ohio State knew which players before hand would work out….SMH….How do you know if you never try? Those listed above have had much success with the portal!

with no issues will just leap at our offer.
When we do look to the portal (and we will because we have to) it will be to find a starter because we don’t have one in place.
This year there were absolutely no starting positions assured to potential transfers.
Guys don’t transfer to sit on the bench. At least the really good ones don’t.

Do you honestly think there weren’t offensive lineman who would have came in here and started? I bet there were 20 offensive lineman in the portal that were clearly better than what we have at center or guard.

Please give a specific example. Who did we miss out on?

Who should we have snapped up?
Did you even examine the players who were available in the portal?
We have at least eight guys who were as highly recruited or more highly recruited than the OL in the portal last summer.
So, no I do not believe there were OL out there just dying to transfer to Clemson.
If you do, be specific and stop talking in vague generalities.

Wanya Morris or Jaymir Johnson, both from Tennessee and both could easily be starters here. I’m sure I could dig deeper and find more but those two were just off the top of my head.

school wit eight 4-star OL already on the roster and an OL coach who is constantly under fire from the fans.
If you believe that, why do you believe that?
I think you may be confusing “availability” with “possibility” ... just saying.

You adapt or you get passed by. Stubbornness is not a noteworthy trait.

He needed to open his eyes and hopefully he’ll adapt. Otherwise we’ll be a 8-4 team year in and out.
