Michigan has killed 2 Top 15 teams.... you can't use the eye test to justify Bama, or say they are the hot team right now.... how will the committee justify them being #1? Based solely on 1 game?

You make a great point, but I'd bet when the new poll is announced, AL will be at the top. There is so much bias, based a lot on the hype generated by esecpn.

If they would just be honest and own it. Admit that they do take into account matchups even though one would have to assume that they are not supposed to.

None of this matters. They want to guarantee a marquee matchup for the title game. They weren’t going to take a risk of having Bama play cincy for the title.
