plummet and wander around in the wilderness for a decade. This is the best coach in the nation in his generation. Then come over tailgate and sit in the stands hoping you can get 7 wins and some type of bowl bid. I’ve been there and done that and use my wisdom to keep you from repeating that bad experience.

Exact logic in 1989 then we stunk for 20 years and that we had someone of Dabo’s capabilities as a position coach and put him in the interim position was pure dumb luck.

And sell it well enough for anyone to come here now over a bigger school where they will get more money. How many failed programs do you have to look at to know running Dabo off is never the answer. Clemson could be the first to run off two program changes coaches though so at least we’d have that going. Dabo is Clemson the only way we survive after Dabo is he will have to appoint someone that he has trained in principle, belief, and conviction to carry the torch.

Ohio State seemed to figure it out. Are we not just as a capable? Acting like the departure of a successful HC is always a death sentence for a team is just not accurate.

The only time Clemson has had a strong program is under Dabo and Danny. Without them we are not even a top 25 program. Dabo had turned Clemson into a top 15 program

Ohio State is one of the largest and wealthiest public universities and has the 6th largest alumni network. They have the most expensive total staff in all of college football. And they have 1 less championship in the CFP era than Clemson. Cutting bait with the coach that was responsible for two championship to start spinning the coaching roulette real is a game Clemson will lose badly.

These kvetchers are mostly subversives. Some(a small percentage) "might" be well intentioned, but most of these dumpers are pushing an agenda & thankfully most are not being heard to at the moment.

Ohio State promoted UM’s OC that he recommended. Who on this staff would be Ryan Day? Garrett Riley? We caught lightning in a bottle with Dabo. Not likely to happen again. Hope he stays 30 yrs like Beamer at VaTech

Or Miami Or Texas for 25 years. Or USC for 20 years. And now Auburn And Tennessee.
Firing coaches is highly risky especially for little ole Clemson.

And if Dabo would get out of his complacency mode going back to last season we might be be relevant instead of reading on Yahoo where Clemson is "CLEMSONING" again.

Totally agree on Clemsoning. No top ten tier team manages to lose games or struggle against inferior teams like we do. Like we want to win gracefully and not embarrass our opponents. Stomp on their necks until they beg for a running clock.

Yes Dabo is bigger than Clemson. Without him Clemson is 6-6 to 9-3 begging for the Gator bowl. Enjoy the ride because Dabo will have Clemson back very quickly. So Clemson is in a little funk they will be just fine.

He was absolutely the right coach for Clemson when he arrived, and he has thrived in his time as our leader. The only question is, as times change, can he still thrive in the new world of college football? Is he willing to adapt as needed to continue to move us forward? There is no doubt that he can, the only question is, will he?

If Brownell had any shame he'd start repaying the money he stole (2 mil per year salary he drew didn't earn, minimal effort recruiting, leaning heavily on mid major portals which under CBB has become the recruiting footprint)the 7-8 seasons he failed to secure an NCAA bid. If had any shame or self awareness, he wouldn't have publicly declared his distaste for all things recruiting, wouldn't privately bad mouth the football program and suggest the recruiting successes weren't on the up & up to former assistants, wouldn't harbor jealousy and scapegoat the football program for his failures...and on and on—

new developments? (LOL). Look, coaches and teams come and go, but Clemson University was here long before Dabo and it'll be here 500 years after he's dead. Some of this reminds me of a good friend's comments in the 80s. He was very high up in the CU Admin and told me more than once - Danny is his own worst enemy, he acts like he owns this town...

No doubt about it. What Dabo did at Clemson is unbelievable. I mean, it isn't like Clemson was Georgia or Alabama or LSU. Clemson was just a joke. Certainly South Carolina never thought they were ever going to be dominated by Clemson. Dabo turned Clemson into a football powerhouse, a national championship winning program, and a national brand. I don't know any other coach that took a program as diminutive as Clemson and turned into them into a major program.
However, nothing lasts forever. Even the greatest coaches start losing their swagger. Look at what is happening to Saban. Even the great Bear Bryant was losing his steam toward the end. It could be that it's just that time for Dabo. It could be that it's time for him to pass the torch and get a young, brilliant, hungry coach on the sidelines. Clemson is such an incredible brand that it wouldn't be too hard to attract top coaches to the program
But who knows? Maybe Dabo is not done yet. Maybe he has another national championship in him. We will see, but it does not change the fact that it all comes down eventually, and Dabo needs to know when it's time to step down.

everything-nearly a century before they ever won their first bowl game. Spurrier provided a brief respite from the Gamecocks storied legacy of being dominated. But his success faded in his final season as HC and (just like your Mama and that garden tool you call "your ole lady"),your Gamecocks got back to what they do best—being dominated–

Dabo is unquestionably a top 5 coach, period. Despite losing two games by costly mistakes we should be ALL IN and supportive as 90% of TIGER NATION likely is. Great potential/ young talent has shown itself despite the losses. We need to be patient and remember the 20+ disappointing years before Dabo. GO TIGERS!

The question to be asked is not what if he leaves, but what if he stays? This is not meant as a negative but more of a question about will he adapt to change or will he stay the course, and how will that impact us going forward?
