YOu can make a very strong argument for 6 or 7 teams.

Based on what I've seen: FSU, Miss St, Miss, Auburn...

What I predict what we will end up with: FSU, UGA, Miss/Miss St winner, Mich St.
-I think UGA wins out and wins SEC championship beating Miss/Miss St winner. -Oregon loses another game (probably Stanford or PAC12 championship) -PAC12 champ will probably have 2 loses -Alabama loses another game (probably Auburn) -Auburn loses another game (probably UGA) -Mich St wins out and Big 10 championship -Big12 champion will have 2 losses

The 3 undefeated teams and the team with the best win (Oregon vs Michigan State). TCU would be #5 and Auburn would be #6.
I'm not sure how you could justify K State being in the top 4 or ahead of Auburn in general. They lost at home to Auburn.

If the selection committee is is anything like ESPN

then it will be the top 4 teams from the SEC.
Top 3 from the SEC West and the winner of the SEC East (can't forget that side of the SEC)
All the other teams from around the nation can forget it. No matter what their record or who they played or beat.
Let's hope the committee has a little more open mind than ESecPN

I know everyone hates ND, but....

had that final call gone their way they wouldve beaten FSU and wouldve certainly beaten them in South Bend.
I dont think ND gets in even if they win out, but it'll be tough to keep them out.....especially if people consider FSU to be a top 2 team.
If Im sitting on the committee and saying FSU is a guarantee lock then you'd have to strongly consider a one loss ND team, IMO.

This is something that I have hated to see from ESPN
Oct 22, 2014, 3:32 PM

commentators. They all make it seem like, "If everything were to end RIGHT THIS SECOND! Then this is who I would have in." Cut the crap, ESPN. Half of the SEC West still has a shot at taking down each other and realistically only one team (Ole Miss or Mississippi State) can come out undefeated. Now that I have vented a little, my four for the end of the year playoff are:
1) Mississippi State (SEC champs, and I feel like they can and will go undefeated) 2) FSU (as much as I hate to have them in, they have only one more shot at a loss and that's against Louisville on the road. Might not be enough to derail them from everything else, though) 3) Michigan State (Feel like they're going to finish the year strong and win the Big 10) 4) Oregon (Luckily they get Stanford at home, but that game, to me, still represents the chance for the Ducks to quack out)
I guess it's 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, so then I would bank on Sparty taking down FSU and matching up against an Oregon team that will surprise a Bulldogs team that will be in a similar situation to Auburn last year, just running out of mojo at the wrong time.

Miss state looks very good....

but I dont see them winning in both Oxford and Tuscaloosa. I think they lose 1 of those. Both Bama and Ole Miss have top 5-10 defenses. If Ole Miss gets by LSU this weekend, I see them being undefeated heading in the SECCG.

Of course, I can't think for myself and therefore let ESPN make my decisions for me. They've told me there's no team outside of the SEC-W that deserves to even play in the Burger King Fish Sandwich Bowl, much less the coveted playoffs, so that's what I'm going with. Who cares that you can't win your own conference, much less your own division... Those are the teams who deserve to be crowned royalty - we should just count ourselves lucky that ESPN created the SEC Network, so we at least get to watch what real football teams look like.
