Feaster

Oct 16, 2016, 7:05 PM

All of our running backs (Gallman, Choice, Fuller and Dye) are exactly alike. They are all power runners! Tavien Feaster on the other hand is a speed back. IMO he would offer a great change of pace to our offense. Any reason he is not getting paying time. Even if you just put him in for a couple of plays I believe he would have some positive affect on our offense!

I compare this to not starting Deshaun Watson his entire Freshman Year.

If the O line was better you might see Feaster more The o line is very average and they got manhandled Saturday.

Are you saying they played very average this one game? Are are you saying they are just average overall?

The couching staff obviously does not trust him enough yet, in the important situations. There's more to being a running back than just carrying the football. Soon, his time will come, as he learns more about position at this level.

If only it were as simple as you make it seem.

Oct 16, 2016, 7:19 PM

Yes he is a fast and talented runner. But he also needs to hit the hole at full speed, read blocks, pick up pass rushers, etc. I'm guessing he can't do those things with consistency yet. Otherwise, he would be playing more. Our coaches aren't morons.

I'm not saying play him every down - just in certain situations.

Ray Charles can see he needs to play and you put him in on downs that require him to get the ball in space with 0% blocking responsibility. With out Gallman we're screwed the other backs run up on the olinemen butt. Is the Richardson commit still with us because I could see him playing a ton. Our back are not as talented as many think.

I tend to agree with you my friend.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There is a very good reason that he didn't play Saturday.

Oct 16, 2016, 8:10 PM

The coaches wanted somebody with more experience in a game that tight.

Do you remember Mike Bellamy?

Oct 16, 2016, 8:13 PM

Same deal, but Fraster has a higher upside and a better attitude.

Point is, Mike didn't play a whole lot his fresh year either even though he had the home run ability.

One of the reasons Mike stayed on the bench was his fumbling

Oct 16, 2016, 8:22 PM

problem...Feaster has fumbled once yet

he ended up getting kicked off the team.

As I recall on the road at VT Mike caught a short pass and took it like 50 or 60 yards to the house very early in the season

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no, he had a 31 yard TD run at VT***
