If DJ looks the best in practice

Dec 1, 2022, 8:19 AM

Maybe you should change how you practice.

I'm looking at you Dabo.

We are 15-0 at practice but it does not count! We are only graded by our play against others! I personally thought DJ stunk in the Spring game but that does not count either...any QB with a whole year of experience should blow out the spring game but he stunk anyway doing the same crap that cost us last season...that should have been a wakeup call to the whole coaching staff..repeating the same failed policies and expecting a different outcome is called ______!

Coaching staff response:

Dec 1, 2022, 9:01 AM [ in reply to Re: If DJ looks the best in practice ]

You should be grateful for a 10 win season, which we rarely had before "Dabo and staff" got here.

#1 - Dabo has a point - we should be grateful

#2 - Just like Alabama, the fans have been spoiled and want a CFP appearance (and NC trophy) every year

#3 - We all need to take a step back and realize what we have (and be grateful where our program is) - where a 10 win season and ACC Championship game ahead of us is looked at as a "bad" season. But in perspective, what a great position we are in if this is considered a bad or failure of a season.

I've been critical of coaches, play calling, player talents/ability - but sometimes need to take a step back and say - we really have turned the corner as a program if we aren't satisfied without a NC appearance (and win). "It's still great to be a Tiger" and we will get this turned around soon.

We show our gratefulness by paying our Iptay dues

Buying tix
Filling the stadium
Going to away games
Going to bowl games
Going to CFP games

Dabo also needs to take a step back and realize the support he has, that support comes with criticism when things aren’t up to Standard.

When I was in the 9th grade I played basketball. We had a player that our coach loved because he practiced well. Guy could not miss a shot in practice. Come game time he could not hit anything. Some people just are not gamers.

Cant miss a shot on the range. Pure, pure, pure.

Walk across the street to the 1st tee and Fore Right, Fore Left, you're going to need to hit a provisional pal.

Score isn't kept in practice, running the play back again doesn't happen in games.

Some people just cant take their game from the range to the tee. Pressure will bust a pipe.

I could see where DJ would look great in practice. He's huge with a cannon for a arm. He also doesn't have to worry about getting hit or crowd noise, or deal with pressure of any kind. Unfortunately those are the areas where he struggles in "real life" as he seems to get rattled pretty easily once his primary target isn't an option or he's getting pressured.
