Should Tyler Brown be WR1?

The way he played today was impressive. He has a motor that does not stop. Should he be the lead guy at WR followed by Antonio Brown and Collins? Or is Tyler the Renfrow slot receiver that we can count on for 3rd downs? Thoughts?

Tyler actually works to get open when the original play doesn’t pan out . Collins gives up on plays.

What is it with Beau? Why does he give up on plays?

Man, this drives me crazy. At least a couple of times a game you see Cade throw it downfield and Collins hitting the coaster brakes. I'm not a fan of calling these guys out by name but when it looks like a lack of effort, that bugs me.
And can somebody tell AR8 to fight for the ball when it's thrown up? I'd rather see a flag for OPI once in a while rather than shrinking when it's up in the air.

He already is in my mind. Can’t wait to get 0 back and see them both on the field together some.

Brown is good at coming back to QB as play breaks down. Seems like the other WRs especially last year just stood around when QB was on the run. Maybe that was because they knew DJU wouldn't get the ball to them and they all learned bad habits. Takes a freshman to break the pattern?

Exactly. So many of the others seem satisfied to just wait on the ball

Cade trusts Tyler to get open now.

You really get the sense that Cade is just waiting for Tyler to get open on a play and will throw it in his general direction. Tyler is going to be a really good WR for us moving forward!

If you mean WR1 as in the goto guy and player we scheme open, yes. He shouldn't be on the outside often though. He needs more time in the weight room to handle the press. Keep him in the slot where he gets a release and get diagonal through the defense. That's when he is at his best. Then these little sweeps, reverses and pop passes just to get him more touches are gravy.

and not even think about pecking order. Throw the ball to whoever gets open and don't force an identity on the offense yet. Give it a few more games.
I don't think this necessarily applies to Brown, but sometimes freshman receivers can be streaky. If he continues the production, everyone will acknowledge the obvious. No need to anoint him this early.
