I don’t ever imagine him, allowing one of our top players to remain in a blowout game to accumulate the gaudy cartoonish numbers that are usually required for a Heisman winner. Watson and Lawrence were our best bet, and even they weren’t able to do anything more than get an invite… I would love to be proven wrong on this, but I just don’t think Dabo will ever risk injury or embarrassing an opponent in such a way to get those numbers.

Yep. Not just injury but he doesn’t want to run up the score on most coaches. Lawrence could’ve easily won the Heisman had that been our goal.

but it must be done in terms of team success. Putting up gaudy #'s is not the Clemson way under Dabo Swinney unless the game itself plays out in a way it is needed for victory.
If Trevor and Deshaun are unable to collect a Heisman it just shows how hard it is to be selected by a group of people who are not sure they should wipe or flush first, or both at the same time lol.

Would rather see Conference Championship Trophies, Bowl game Trophies and National Championship Trophies than a Heisman Trophy. The Heiman is an opinion Trophy now and not earned like the others.

The Heisman has become a QB award for those with the most impressive stats, not the best player. There's been defensive players worthy of the Heisman not even invited to the ceremony, and as stated above, when Deshaun didn't win it I lost all interest in the award.
