I saw a thread yesterday about artificial turf at Clemson

It got me thinking about the benefits of turf...
Other sports, such as lacrosse or field hockey would be able to use the field in Death Valley if we went to turf. I know it's a hard subject to bring up, so kudo's to the poster that had the gnads to do so...
That's what I love about Tiger Fans.... They are always thinking of ways to help our university.
I hope the admin. is considering this

I actually think we should install turf and death valley
Oct 9, 2015, 11:29 AM
|

should become the home field for women's soccer. We have a great squad and we need the room for a growing number of fans.
Soon, women's soccer in the valley will draw higher attendance than football. You just wait and see.

Really, when Clemson is huge into real grass turf development. Plus if it was a multi use field it would have permanent markings for different sports. No way.

Y'all done fell and bumped your heads! IF you spent all the money to install turf, It would make no financial sense to open an 85,000 seat stadium for a couple thousand fans to watch field hockey and such. As for soccer, our coaches want to play on a field utilizing the maximum dimensions allowed in the soccer world. Because of the curvature of the walls in The Real Death Valley near the end zones, A soccer field of those dimensions will not fit. And those are the facts, presented this day, Nine October, Two Thousand Fifteen in the year of our Lord.

I have played on both grass and artificial turf at the high school level and beyond. WE DO NOT WANT IT. The turf is made to feel like natural grass with small blades and beads of rubber to feel like dirt. The problem is when a player is forced down via a tackle, grass will rip before ligaments or tendons. Turf will grab onto your cleats and RUIN your knees or even cause a broken leg. I hated playing on it and always worried about getting my legs messed up when I changed directions.
NATURAL GRASS IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!
