I may have smoked too much crack today but....

After all is said and done, how many of our quarterbacks are going to stick around for the duration. Have Watson, 3 behind him and another one coming next year. I know that there are players that are destined to be career backups but at some point, at least one will start thinking about other options.
Thoughts?

of the game and worry about our quarterback situation in 2019 and 2020. While we're worrying about things that haven't happened yet, I mean.

Schuessler is the obvious transfer option.

Odds are one of the Freshmen are lost too. This is why it is important to bring in somebody you trust every year.

I'm not sure that he will be able to fully adapt to the zone read....but its early to really tell for sure.

All Tucker has to do it get the reads down. If you have watched his film you would know he has some wheels. whereas Bryant is still learning how to be a passer. My only knock on Israel is his size.

Some of these guys have been on campus for all of three months and some folks are already talking transfer. I just don't get it.

You are correct, it is early but if one is not thinking ahead, then there is the possibility of being caught off guard.

"it is early but if one is not thinking ahead, then there is the possibility of being caught off guard."
That's a cute lyric but not at all applicable with this situation. None of us have the insight as to how it's going to play out. Both scrimmages were closed to the public. None of us have ever seen the young kids wear orange in a game situation. To assume anything as outlandish as transfer talk so early is ridiculous; especially with all the more positive things that one could focus on.

I can say this with utmost certainty....
Yes....we will lose at least one.
I take great consolation that, that "one" won't be Kelly Bryant!
He is going to be a stud for us!!
Go Tigers!!!

recruits more than just an athlete . There is more to the scholarship than the gold at the end of the rainbow .
Look at Tajh and CJ for a quick example .
I think Tiger athletes, for the most part, see the big picture - scholarship, brother and sisterhood and growing into great human beings.
Then they go for the gold, whether in sports, business, education or whatever their dream .

hasn't the real usc had career back-up qb's drafted ? maybe
Apr 3, 2015, 5:49 PM

,just maybe, we can get to that point. we are now known as an wr producing school, why not add qb's to that (cough, cough) list ? we have also had numerous rb's drafted. since we are going that far (and now) with this new and innovative idea of adding elite o-linemen to the mix, why not just become known as offensive u ! i know we were the #1 defense in the nation last year(and i love defense),we can have a good one of those, too. but according to some peeps(ok,1) wccp host, offense wins championships. i,for one, am willing to try something different for another national title - how about y'all ?

Schussler is a career back up. He couldn't unseat a unproductive Stoudt, bless his heart.
