I know it's sacrilege to do anything but worship Marvin Harrison Jr BUT

Why don't stats matter when comparing him for Heisman consideration? He's only 9th in receiving yards. Why doesn't Nabors from LSU deserve to be in NY more than him? He's got 300 more yards and the same number of TDs.

This whole Heisman thing has become a joke and popularity contest. I neither know nor car who is there and never will again. Goodbye Heisman and any future Nissan purchase

Nabers got hosed. MHJ is great but Nabers definitely had the better season and should've won the Biletnikoff award.

At least 3 receivers not named Harrison had better years than he did. Name recognition bias on that as well.

I wonder what might have been had we had this undeserving guy at wr this past season? The dude’s a stud. He no longer plays at OSU so you don’t have to hate him anymore. This group is so childish, as if your like or dislike has a thing to do with how well someone will do in the NFL. Deebo somehow recovered from his choice of schools and has turned out to be an average pro, lol. If you ever watch the player’s intro on an NFL game, you will notice that players from rival schools can be teammates. Fans cannot. What this means is that the very last opinion we should value regarding athletes is from the homers on a fan board. Jealous know it alls that express their inaccurate emotional opinions are a dime a dozen on here…

I don’t hate the kid, in fact I’m one of the few on this board that doesn’t hate 0310 state. You’re right he’s far better than anyone we had a WR this year, but my point is what he put on the field this year aint better than what the receivers at LSU and Washington put on tape. Being the top WR in the draft is not the same as having the best season; he did not and therefore doesn’t deserve to be put ahead of a few other receivers.
B-T-dubs he hasn’t made his decision about going pro yet so yeah he is still a buckeye.

Harrison had a turd QB.

Both guys averaged 18 per catch and both had 14 TDs. Nabers caught 19 more passes.
I think it's kind of pointless to argue about who should be #4 in the Heisman voting, but this does appear to be a situation where the perception of Harrison was weighted as heavily as his actual stats. If I had to pick one WR to put on my team it would be him, but there are other guys like Nabers and Odunze that had essentially the exact same efficiency as Harrison but with more catches and more total yards.
I don't think it's a huge deal either way. Harrison very clearly had the worst QB throwing to him of the three. The other two had QBs that are probably gonna finish 1-2 in the Heisman.

I don't buy into the all out conspiracy about it but anytime you have journalists voting you are opening the results to scrutiny. I mean many journalists have said they won't vote certain players into the baseball HoF bc that player wasn't nice to media members. What in the fudge nuggets does that have to do with anything?
I'd rather these awards and halls of fame adopt hard requirements for entry that move with the times and rely, to some degree, on comparison to their contemporary peers. Rushing for 10,000 yards as an NFL running back is much different than it once was. Same for throwing for 50k yards.
