This is what good assistant coaching can do for you.

Brad has had very limited success over the years here getting results equal to or better than the talent he has brought in and put on the court. Fan interest has dwindled, and he has been on the hot seat a bunch, this year possibly the hottest.

Thrilled that he was okay going the route of inviting in old friends and colleagues that maybe better mesh with his personality to serve in assistant roles for this season and help turn our fortunes around. We've only had one Wheel of Destiny game so far (Loyola) and that was early. We're not rushing ill-advised shots or showing panic when we get down or enter the final stretches, and there's a confidence out there on the floor that we've seldom witnessed out of a Brownell squad. Our best start in league history and likely Top 20 ranking ahead are proof positive of what a difference assembling the right support at the top can make.

Thank you, Brad, for not worrying about how it might look hiring old acquaintances in key roles and going out there and bringing them in, and thank you, Neff, for the extra $100k or so it took for Brad to accomplish that. Ramping up our investment in the program like that is very inspiring for what lies ahead in hoops.

Brad certainly deserves all the credit in the world for our success this season, from the player development, recruiting, and the talent he has placed around him on the sidelines. Hope we can finish up as well as we've started.

Go Tigers! Go Brad!

What your qualifications to judge his fitness to be an ACC coach?

He wasn't, but was hired in '10, so NLCB was in full effect.

12+ years later, the ACC has fallen into the abyss, suffering the throes of slowing down so Brad could catch up.

Clemson fans on Brad needing good assistants to elevate the program: Brownlee is not a good coach so he needs great assistant coaches to bail him out

Clemson fans on the hiring of Riley as OC: Dabo is a great coach who knows how to attract great assistants to make the program elite

Based on the past twelve years of each's tenure here, yeah, I can agree with that.

Well said and certainly kudos go out to Brad. You can definitely see the Impact that the assistants have had. The young fella is a guru in developing guards, which we can see the effects already with chase and Beadle.

Donlon imo was the biggest hire. He was the brains behind Brad's defense and he's got further experience in big 10 basketball that I think helped him personally. So, what are we seeing this year, our defense. Last year these same players weren't nearly as good or experienced in the low post. You're seeing it this year.

That's one reason I've been so bullish on this team since early November. Our perimeter passing is 10 fold better than last year. As we discussed earlier this season, this is the first Brownell team I can remember where we could truly work outside to inside. Puts so much more pressure on opposing defenses.

Duke was also stonewalling us last night on the perimeter - struggled to shoot and get the ball inside from there most of the game. Great adjustments on our end putting emphasis on creating more opportunities closer to the basket. Really great game all around.

Over the last 3 or 4 years I posted that for Clemson basketball to improve it would need an investment of more money. This would give Coach Brownell a chance to hire higher quality assistant coaches and allow Clemson tonuse the additional money to build a more successful program.

I have never been a big fan of LittleJohn because when originally built Frank Howard was the AD. He did not give Clemson Basketball the attention during FH’s time as AD. It’s was all about the football program. Because of his focus it put the basketball program years behind our other conference members as well as in the NCAA.

Coach Howard as AD should be blamed for some of Clemson Basketball’s struggles over the years.

I applaud the Judge for his loyalty to the basketball program and current HC Brad Brownell.

Some of you will want to laugh me off the board for this comment. I believe Brad Brownell is a pretty good Basketball HC. He is winning while running an honest program. As a Tiger fan HC BB has earned fan support. ???

Let’s heat for the Judge for standing behind HC BB and the Clemson BB Teams. Let’s hear it for Clemson Tigers Basketball !!! ???
