Liberals Are The Most Intolerant fools On The Planet

If you disagree with them, you are a racist, homophobe, bigot,-----------------fill in the blank. Diversity to them is everyone agreeing with their socialist/marxist/communist ideology. It's a disease of controlling every aspect of other people's lives.

The debate back and fourth between 'conservatives' and 'liberals' always seems to end up with arguments like,
"X-group is, in its entirety, intolerant and bigoted. I mean, they generalize about entire groups and treat them differently based on those generalizations. Each and every ####### one of them."

It's a disease of controlling every aspect of other people's lives.
Are liberals trying to control your life? Or are "traditionalists" (not antigays, or bigots, because those are really negative words for the same concept) trying to control the lives of homosexuals by not allowing them to get married? If two gay people get married, it has zero impact on you. None. If they can't get married, these two consenting adults are not entitled to the benefits of marriage that you are in your heterosexual marriage.
So, who is controlling who?

It's not only the issue of same sex marriage. I think that if gay couples were granted all the same "benefits" as married heterosexual couples, through civil unions that would not satisfy the liberals. The goal is to destroy traditional Christian values and Christianity. IMHO.

Christian values [well, other than homophobia] and Christianity."
Some gay couples are Christian (though I'm sure some here will argue that can't be). I'm sure you'll find some in the other major religions, along with agnostics, and some atheists.

DING DING DING!!!!!!
I like how pro gay marriage groups always say, "It's only a word, why do you care so much" when they fight so hard just for it to be named that "word". The problem, like he said above, is that you could give gay people MORE rights than a traditionally married couple under the name civil union, and it still wouldn't matter. They main objective is to dismantle Christian moral and value, or the sanctity of marriage. It's not about equality, it's about liberals trying to change what we believe.

I got news for you, ALL MARRIAGES ARE NOTHING MORE THAN CIVIL UNIONS. Once upon a time marriage WAS a religious institution, but it hasn't been for many years.
Don't want to be married anymore? Get a divorce. You don't need God's permission, or pastoral counselling, or your preacher's permission. All you need is a court order. And in most states you don't even need a reason, or not much of one.
What God supposedly joined together is easily put asunder. (Unless you're Catholic, in which case you need a court order and an annulmnent). Are Christians that get divorced still REAL Christians? How could they be?
I wonder how many of the people that showed up at Chick-Fil-A yesterday supporting the "sanctity of marriage" have been divorced and/or commited adultery. My guess is there were more than a few fake Christians in the lot.
If non-Christians get "married" are they REALLY married? In the eyes of the law (the civil law, the law of the land) they are. But it's easy to dissolved that marriage. Some insitution. Where's the sanctity?
And if you are married by someone other that a pastor is it still a REAL marriage? Yep, as far as the law is concerned. MILLIONS of people are married each year my non-clergy. In SC any Notary Public can perform the ceremony. There are no magic words. Religion is not involved. It's basically "Do you want to be married? Okay, sign the license and you're hitched."
Bottom line, IN THE EYES OF THE LAW, marriage stopped being a religious institution a long time ago. Now it's nothing more than a civil union, which is basically just another contract. Why shouldn't people be allowed to contract as they see fit?
I agree with you about one thing. I still can't understand why the LGBT aren't happy with calling it a Civil Union? For all intents and purposes it's the same darn thing. No matter what you call it, half of the participants are still gonna end up divorcing, or dissolving the contract, or whatever term you want to use for going their separate ways.

Ideally, in a perfect world no one would have sex before marriage and no one would ever get divorced. Both acts are sin. But in reality, marriage as an institution has become a joke. Not sure why you're trying to protect something that is severely broken. Letting gays marry may actually improve things.

to be very liberal. He got very upset with me and made some very personal, deragatory remarks because I did not vote for Obama, and because I disagreed with him on a few issues. He didn't really debate the points, but immediately launched a personal attack.
I have other very liberal friends who have absolutely no respect for my point of view, and get very angry when I try to talk to them about it.
Tolerant indeed.
