I examined the Justyn Ross NIL paraphernali closely

As I've been saying, no Clemson logo (paw) present, because that changes everything and now kickback has to go to Clemson. It comes off as disingenuous and "cheesy" because of this omission. Just my opinion. As stated before, the issue should be NILL, the last L for Logo. That's a big deal.

It is a big deal, but Clemson is not allowing the players to use our logo.

bc they don't want their brand associated with things they don't approve. this could be brands or even political messages.
Smart imo

Not sure why Clemson won't allow it

each product will be reviewed by the college and approved before it can be sold. And Clemson will get additional revenue through licensing. If the players don't get approval before producing the product Clemson will send a cease and desist letter. If they continue then Clemson will take legal action.

It was my understanding that it is part of the NIL agreement that school logos--anything related to schools--is not allowed. Am I wrong?

It's on a school by school basis.

We're gonna see a lot of all-conference caliber guys

try and fail to make money on NIL merch because of this. Not saying it's gonna happen to Justyn, but would a single one of us buy anything from him if he wasn't playing for Clemson? Obviously he does, but my point is that Clemson has everything to do with Justyn's popularity with our fanbase. Same story for literally every other player in the nation. Not being able to put logos or team names on stuff is gonna hinder merch sales significantly. That's why I would go the endorsement route instead of selling merch.

If you notice when NFL players advertise they don't use anything but their name. Like Aaron Rodgers and State Farm. If they do the NFL get a cut.

Ross is an amazing player, and if healthy, will be successful in the nfl. However, how many fans will buy a Ross shirt without any reference to Clemson. On the other hand, what's to keep a car dealership in Columbus from giving away autographed posters, they can support players and get a tax write off.
There are a lot more car dealers in OH, TX, CA, than in SC. I think the NIL is a bad idea, deep pocket alum can promise to buy NIL from the "starting QB". Regardless, it will have an affect that no one saw coming.
Also, a free education, preferred housing, recreation facilities, state of the art training facilities, nutrition, rehab, tutoring, multimillion coaching, etc. is worth a lot. Don't get me wrong, they earn it through dedication and hard work, but I believe they are fairly compensated.
