This would be bad for CU but I don't think they would fire Tanner this quick and this early in Muschamp's tenure. Also would hope they wouldn't do it this publicly. If they fire Tanner and hire Morrison, it will look bad.
I hope Tanner is AD for 30 more years, he is awful.

I know Danny personally from our days At Wofford. He is one to move carefully with a great deal of thought. I would be quite surprised if he even remotely looked at USCe. His ties to SC are such that he could have inside info quickly and with their debt I doubt he would take the job if offered.
I see him ending his career in a much more stable situation. Wofford's AD may want him in some capacity or he could move in another direction.
Go Terriers and Tigers!

the political problems in Columbia are so much bigger

than one man or even one AD.
In fact they start like a snowball at the top of a hill well above the AD, and not even within the University.
Simple facts of inertia:
1. You can't get rid of history, or lack thereof. Lack of brand continues to kill in places like Columbia, Raleigh, Atlanta, Fayetteville (AR), Starkville, Pittsburgh, et al.
2. Spurrier's luck of having top-end recruits like Clowney and Lattimore growing up in the State as Coot fans or in traditionally Coot recruiting areas is far less meaningful going forward with Clemson's ability to reach into other states for 5* talent. Just how less meaningful is being played out with guys like J Simpson, D Kendrick, and X Thomas.
3. The intrusion of backwater Southern politics into the athletics program in Columbia is so deep, and so many people think they have the answers, that one man in Columbia could never accomplish anything near what Dabo has done in Clemson. Not even close.
That being said, truly hate to see those buffoons do anything remotely helpful to themselves....

Fayetteville (AR) and Pittsburgh have history and if their stars align could be successful again.
Oddly, Fayetteville and Pittsburgh aren't state capitals; most of the others are.

I may have missed it, but I didn't see anything about Morrison being interested in an opening at usuc, nor did I see that there was an opening at usuc for the AD position. Maybe my laptop brought up the wrong link bc I didn't see where usuc AD Tanner was at risk of losing his job at usuc....

You guys are a trip. No such rumors out there and once again you guys have made up a story. We do play more than one sport at the University of South Carolina and most of the sports are doing very well. I guess you guys are okay with just football.

You play multiple sports at USUC, but just don't play the ones that are most important very well. In fact, your in-state rival owns you in the major sports. Some other SC schools own in you too. At least USUC is maybe 3rd or 4th in the state, so there's that.

Well I would be lying if I was to say just FB for me. To be honest, I love BB, FB, BB, and women's softball. But calling Fishing and Equestrian a sport was dumb when both has always been a pleasure.

Is this a joke? Clemson was a national finalist in men's communist football for 2015 and this year had a good tourney appearance. The women went deep into the 2015 & 2016 tournies as well. They have a few ACC championships split between them over the past two years (2 or 3 I can't remember the exact number. Baseball won the ACC in Lee's first year and was a national seed. Clemson's men's basketball team is on the same levels as your's you just have the advantage of playing in a #### poor conference. All what you have is women's basketball.

You do realize our basketball team won at y'all's place and our baseball team took the series last year. Sorry we do not care too much about other sports but we have y'all beat at the 3 big boy sports. So what do you mean okay with just football? Oh yes and we just won the natty while y'all went 6-7. 56-7.

No way in h$//! Not unless he wants to leave. The only issue the Coots have is the football program. They're doing okay in all other athletics programs. He hired Dawn Staley & Frank Martin. Both great hires. Wish we could do the same with both our basketball programs. The ol' ball coach screwed the football program...

Why not UNC, NCSU, Duke, Wake or UNCC?
UNC may want another fresh start after the next NCAA punishment.

Morrison isn't a screw up. Look at TCU before he was there. Look at what he did for the southern conference. The panthers did have a lousy year but odds are against you in years after super bowl appearances statistically. Danny was at Wofford with my dad and I was classmates with his daughter at Wofford as well. Great family. His wife is a North Carolina alum, only tie to coots is that his son attended there. I don't understand why anyone would want to go there ever. I see him going to a much more sound product and being a more desirable candidate for collegiate openings at the AD position than South Carolina. When Wofford hired Benjamin Dunlap as the president, Danny was on the short list, he felt snubbed by his alma mater truth be told. He is a good businessman and people forget that, he wasn't the one however that let Josh Norman go, that was the General Manager's decision. I don't know where Danny is going to end up but he has historically left places in a better position than before he got there.

Wocotiger, Good observations. Danny Morrison has done well every place he has been. I know he will land on his feet so to speak in a solid job situation. I just do not see him in Columbia. I also doubt RayTanner is leaving anytime soon.
Go Tigers!
