HIT THE QB ON EVERY PLAY!!!! If GT wants to run the triple option and dive at our knees all day, make the QB pay the freaking price. There is no reason the QB shouldn't be getting earholed on every play saturday. If he runs with the ball, hit him. If he pitches the ball, hit him. If he hands the ball to the B back, then pretends to run, hit him. If he passes the ball and 4 seconds haven't passed, hit him. In other words, HIT THE QB ON EVERY PLAY! That is how you get the QB to start making mistakes. Make him wish he had never even heard of Death Valley.

This is one of the reasons i wish we were in the SEC...wouldn't have to deal with Busch league stuff like the triple option.

Funny, but didn't Urban Meier ran an offshoot of the triple option at FL (only difference was he ran it in the shotgun set) and won 2 NC's with it....in the SEC???? Yep, he sure did.

No, he ran the spread, it involved a lot of read option because he had back to back mobile quarterbacks in Leak and Tebow. That's different than running a dedicated triple option. Maybe the next time you think your about to make a profound statement, you should just assume that you're wrong (likely) and carry on with your life.

Not really the triple option involves the FB dive and Florida rarely used a fb it was mostly zone read and speed option

Triple option is typically run from an i or flexbone formation with a fullback, which meyer did not do. So, you're dumb.

How about hit everybody on every play? Make them contemplate even coming back out onto the field after we score on them. When the OL tries to cut block, stomp on them. When that clock hits 00:00, they will know they just got their candy @sses kicked up and down the field for 60 minutes.

...once the DE sees the triple option coming, he must bee line for the QB and light him up...don't worry about the ball. Makes the QB commit to the pitch early and he takes a beating. When I played DE in high school, I loved to see the triple option coming (yes I know it's not that simple now).

Ah, but you will notice that the QB does something very smart. When he pitches the ball, he just slides down. I had thought about this as well: if there's a defender close enough, even on plays where there's a pitch, just smack the QB. The problem is that he doesn't stay on his feet to get smacked when he pitches.

The best way to stop the option is to tackle the guy with the football. Play your assignments and be where you are suppose to be and you will get hits on all of their players.

It starts with taking out the fullback. Negating the fullback is key in stopping the TO.
