Fighting Frank Martins lose again

SCars investment now stands at over $600,000 per conference victory. They're gonna need an SEC network check real quick at this pace.

Really, I thought they wanted Darren Horne out of cootlumbia on the first thing rolling. And oh how awesome they believed their BB program was going to be when they learned that Frank (the basketball God) Martin was coming and taking their program to the NCAA tournament his first season. I bet that Slurrier is happy that Martin is failing miserably b/c, when Martin came to usuc. Ole Stevie had to take a back seat to Martin for weeks. Martin's name clogged all air ways in cootlumbia with all the great things that Martin was going to do for there BB program. Now they are all about ready to run Martin out of town b/c he hasn't dominated Clemson in BB. Martin was a proven coach unlike that Jr. College coach that Clemson had hired. Them coots, they are so desperate to become just like Clemson. I don't care how many times trash has been turned to treasure, that trash will never be more than a bigger dump!!!

Eddie Fogler has been a consultant on their last two coaching searches. I'd say he's enjoying some sweet revenge.

How long before Frank actually

explodes from anger. Not a figure of speech, but he physically blows up on the court. Has to happen this year. This is a man who looked angry while coaching a good KState team with Michael Beasley. Imagine how coaching possibly the worst D1 bball team in the state of SC is treating him?

I hope he doesn't do anything to get dismissed with cause. Attendance is bad this year but things will really come to a head when season ticket sales collapse next year. Frank Martin is drawing a top 25 salary so any arguments he should be afforded a lot of time to build a program are ridiculous. He was paid at a level that expected to at least be competitive immediately. His salary, coupled with dramatic revenue reductions next season, will be very difficult for an athletic department that is so over leveraged financially to handle. For all their talks about how much more money they make (significant but grossly exaggerated) they have pretty much hit their borrowing limits and had their bond ratings reduced under Hyman.

nobody expected him to win immediately with the roster he was given, that would have been a ridiculous expectation even without Bruce Ellington going to the NFL.

Keep making excuses. Halfway through the second season isn't immediately. And he cleared the bench in year one to make way for his players. Losing to a directional campus of your own parent school is always unacceptable. Zero sign of progress. You honestly believe you invested $4 million over two years for the promise that he might start recruiting and coaching sometime in the back half of his contract?

if Martin doesn't have some success in that cesspool. It looked to me like a match made in heaven. A coach of questionable ethics that attracts a certain" type" of athlete to a school known for its thuggery and arrest records. Looks like a formula for success.......until he blows up and/ or the bones are uncovered. I expect a very short term success. I hope that I am very, very wrong!

From what I hear all their eggs are in the PJ Dozier and Seventh Woods basket. I'd give them a 1:100 shot at Woods who is a one and doner and won't play till 2016. They may have a 30% shot at Dozier if Angry Frank can work the booster connections the way he knows how, but the kid probably goes to UNC and he isn't available till 2015. There does not appear to be any significant help coming to them next year. They can be moderately improved next year and still be terrible. With no fan support left and no tangible improvements on the court it would effectively be over for him. Really no different than what would have happened with Brownell if he hadn't spotted such a diamond in the rough with McDaniels. But Frank doesn't know how to spot and develop talent. His entire career, even in high school, is about cheating to acquire known commodities. And it isn't working at South Carolina.

Do you think that Frank Martin has any regrets for ever getting off the Airplane on his first trip to Dumplumbia??? I bet he tells his wife every night, oh God we made a horrible mistake for ever coming to Dumplumbia....
