What's up with Will Taylor?

I thought Will Taylor coming to CU was supposed to be a big deal. Maybe even a QB in a pinch. Then he got hurt.
So this year he just occasionally returns punts (or FC's them) and he's a mop up WR.
So, where's the disconnect?

He is not high enough on the depth chart to play.

He never played wide receiver before

While he may be a great athlete learning a totally new position takes more than just fall camp. If he were playing a lot it would mean we were very weak at that position.

The disconnect is your myopic view of reality.

Dabo said “Will Taylor has to learn a new position”

He’s as talented anyone they have ever had but is new as a WR, he needed at least a full year to learn the position but he got hurt last year so next year he will be much improved after he knows about being a WR.
His time is coming but he lost a year with injury.

punts. I think Williams could do a better job returning punts. I hate to say it, but this kid may need to stick to baseball. He’s just not exceptional as a football player. At least he hasn’t shown it yet.

It might help if his blockers would stop running into him. If the coverage team does that it’s a penalty for interference. Kinda makes it hard to catch a punt.

I don't think he was ever supposed to be a big deal as far as football. I think we were all happy to get him to play both sports, but he wasn't supposed to be a big deal as a WR. We were just hoping due to him being a good athlete. He was rated the 1248th player and the 93rd athlete.

I actually do, or at least can be. Look, it's a developmental game And hes about one year coming off of a major knee injury PLUS Learning a completely new position.. I don't know, but as a fan I'm certainly willing to give him another season or so before declaring him a bust. Will he be a star? Maybe not. But one thing I do know I do know is he has a quickness and speed when a 100% that the WR room frankly lacked up until this year.

I think he could be really good, but why expect it? He hasn't even shown flashes like Williams has shown his first year. I see Taylor as Will Swinney on steroids.
