A little motivation for the current team. Here are some initial thoughts, from looking at the seniors on the 1983, 1991, 2000, 2005 and 2017 rosters.
QB - Deshaun Watson/Charlie Whitehurst RB - Terry Witherspoon FB - Kevin Mack PK - Bob Paulling FS - Billy Davis P - Dale Hatcher CB - Rod McSwain` LB - Levon Kirkland C - Curtis Whitley LB - Ed McDaniel DL - William Devane DL - Rob Bodine WR - Rod Gardner S - Robert Carswell CB - Tye Hill S - Jamal Fudge LB - David Dunham

That team is about to get a LOT stronger! In fact, no seniors from last year were worthy?

Hatcher was a senior during the '84 debacle/loss to the chickens. That was also my senior year, and to this day I still can't believe we managed to lose that one.

Jim Stuckey and Archie Reese should be DL listed. They had pro careers and made All ACC. Jimmy made several All American teams and had many great playoff and Super Bowl games. Jimmy was a 1st round draft choice. I can't remember if he was 7th or 11th pick.
Bodine and Devane were co-starters at MG. Obviously Woody Hayes incident made them known.

I believe both Reese and Stuckey lost to SCAR

Devane was a co-starter with William Perry on the '83 team; Bodine was on the '91 team. Maybe I misread your post. Were you just pointing out that they were co-starters in their respective senior years? If so, any suggestions for a better MG who never lost to SCAR?

in my book if you redshirted, you weren't part of the loss, so he went 3-0. No offense to Witherspoon, but Gallman is better.

Yea Gallman technically went 3-0. It was unfair being a redhsirt when lost.

I think it is a valid point, and would love to have him on the team. He was part of the team during his redshirt year, but was he part of the loss?
There are also several early departures that I may have missed on the other teams, and I am sure several others who may have had a loss only in a redshirt year.

I think Banks McFadden from the '39 team would have to replace Witherspoon at RB on this list.
McFadden is in the College Football Hall of Fame, was All-American in 2 sports in the same year, and the only Clemson athlete ever to have his jersey retired in 2 sports.
**Noteworthy for this year, he also held the Clemson record for punting avg in a season for 40 years, and still holds the record for most 50 yd punts in a single season.
Who ya got from Heisman's nasty 1900 senior class, that started this whole never losing to USuC trend?

I believe that there are 5 eligible, but the finalists are:
Josh Cody - 4-0, from 1927-1930 Charley Pell - 2-0, from 1977-1978
I am going with Cody
