Finally was able to stomach watching the FSU game again....

It could have been a completely different game had Tajh Boyd played to his abilities. As we all know, Tajh has had a tendency every season to go through these stretches in games where he is just bad and seems rattled. Well, he was like that the whole game. Sure, there was some pressure from FSU's D, but a quarterback with the expectations/experience/abilities that Tajh has should be able to manage that. He just was not mentally there.
The good news is we know Tajh will likely bounce back and has proven several times he can win a big game on a big stage. He is our unquestioned leader and has to step it up the rest of the season or we could easily lose 3 more games. During the FSU game he never seemed to be having fun. He was shell shocked.
In regards to the defense, they gave us several shots in the first half to gain momentum and we threw them away time after time. We certainly had some really weak plays in pass coverage, pursuit, and tackling, but for the most part if our offense had been able to put up points we could have kept the crowd in the game and grabbed the momentum.
The coaching certainly could be criticized too, but the large majority of failure rest on the offenses execution. Tajh just wasn't leading and playing with confidence. I thought Venables should have brought more max blitzing into the equation during the game. It's pretty obvious the only way that someone is going to hand it to FSU's offense is to punish Winston and put him on his rear all game long.
We really need to gain confidence the next few weeks and dominate VA and GA Tech. If we can slowly build momentum leading into the SUC game, I think we will likely see the Tajh that plays lights out in a huge game. Do all of that, and then win a BCS game. BOOYA! We shall see. We shall see.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to thaw out some white meat. GO TIGERS!!!!

The periods of Tajh's funk have become shorter and less frequent as he's matured. He's seen his worst days this season. I expect a real azzwhuppin for USuCk.

Tajh did play to his abilities against FSU. Having a history of blowing it against top tier teams or in prime time games means that you just aren't that good. He hasn't improved his weaknesses in 3 seasons, no matter how much Dabo and Morris lie and say otherwise. Hope he has a degree that will allow him to get a good job because he won't make it in the NFL being scared like that.

they lined up and kicked our behind all game. first score posession and score but we still would lose. you have to show up and execute and we didnt.
also how tough is it to have a decent tight end? it has been glaringly absent all year. that is on us.

Tajh got in one of his 'funk,' periods a couple weeks before

the FSU game. He didn't get over it until the fourth quarter of last week's game. When he gets in one of those funks he can't win. When he's not in one of those funks he can't be beaten.

For those who say different game if we don't fumble

I thought about that too, but then I thought about the LSU game, remember? The one talked about for 8 months that made everybody think Clemson is national championship team and Pasadena Bound? Lol but Clemson fumbled that first drive, gave up a score on the first play by LSU. We are not what we thought we were, period.

The FSU loss has left a bad taste that will only be erased if we beat SC. If we played FSU 10 times this year I truly believe they would win 8 or 9. We need a good game today, not just a win, to get positive momentum and confidence.
