Feel like CFB died today

So there’s absolutely nothing stopping tampering and a single player can hold an entire college hostage to find the most money. Ain’t gonna lie if I were Dabo I would ride off in the sunset, it’s the Wild West out here and the craziest part about it apparently the players are victims ??????????

That statement from OU regarding Caleb Williams and the absolutely fawning over him is revolting. I am afraid that you may be correct. Texas A&M has become a cesspool of money and influence. The game will never be the same.

I know I made a post about that, was actually disgusted by the statement. Like your seriously going to bow to the feet of an 18 year old kid putting together a “package” for him. Not really surprised though, CFB is going to same way the world is and that straight down the toilet. We’ve gotten so far past WE and all in on ME.

Excellent Post. Kids used to LOVE Clemson because it was CLEMSON and the football family. Now, kids are leaving as starters to go where they can be at a bigger TV audience, more NIL money or they have to sit for, not a season, but a game. Just thinking out loud, say Cade wins the starting job in the fall and it's announced nest season the week of the opening game. Where do you think DJ will be the 2nd week ? Why is our back up at South Florida, he might have been a great game day QB, but we will never know, because Dabo didn't have the luxury to sit DJ for a game even to see. College football as we knew it is over.

How many "starters" did we lose?
Jan 3, 2022, 6:10 PM

Were any of our transfers starters?
And I don't know that a single one of them left for a "bigger TV audience" or "more NIL money" either. Which of our transfers got an NIL deal at their new school?
I think it boiled down to playing time, and that's it. With not having to sit out a year anymore, I think it's going to be hard for any program to keep good players around in a depth and development role anymore.

Sad but true,I am done with it.I will always love Clemson as a university and despise the Shamecocks, but money has again proven to be the great plague that destroys morals, loyalty and human sensibility.I will always remember when players were devoted solely to the program that offered them an education and a possible springboard to the NFL.Society is corrupt and most of these athletes don't have a clue about respect and honor. The Golden Rule has rusted and the sun is setting on what we once had.Look at Clemson and the "arms race" to attract top recruits with improved facilities and adding on to the stadium while pushing out fans who can't afford to attend games, destroying value and tradition along the way We have met the enemy, and it is us.

If he goes to USF he's likely 2nd string there as well, as he can't throw a lick which is why he didn't play here

Any kid who believes in themselves will always want to play. If they get beat out they move on. Not really a big deal. Play with who you got

Nope, CFB is going down. But I really like the plan Texas tech guy put together. It's about the ONLY solution.

I haven't seen the Texas Tech plan - can you share a link to it?

I think we'll see Dabo's next career move be to retire
Jan 3, 2022, 6:32 PM

not now, but I could see him leaving what CFB will become to do other things to help young people. Granted, he could keep doing it at Clemson, but if he has another 10-2 season, the mob may vote him out. Too many people do not understand the challenge Dabo has and just expect it to be push-button easy. Welcome to 2022...

The life has been draining from college football since then.
Crazy thing is I figured it may take 3-4 years to really kill it. It’s happening much quicker than expected.

Wait until organized crime puts up sham businesses to funnel money to players across America and then get the desired point spreads because the players and Families will be owned by them.

I am with you on this. I'm pretty sure for the foreseeable future recruiting will basically be seasonal for our existing players as well as incoming ones.

I love Dabo but I feel he should go to Jacksonville to Coach Lawrence Travis again taking James with him. CFB will be dead probably less that 5 years. I still haven't got answer from Clemson or IPTAY when player fix money via NIL do they colleges still play for the players tuition. Still waiting for huge Title IX lawsuit against NCAA. SCOTUS lost their minds ruling they can get paid even with colleges paying for their tuitions.

It feels like it is on life support. We will just have to see if they ruin it like they did college hoops.
