But my brother in law works at a hospital near Norman. I have shared my views that Jeff Scott, Chad Morris, Tony Elliot have not had successful transitions into head coaching roles.
I actually got ripped apart saying Brent may not be head coach material because he best Texas. Point being, he is in the know being around OU fans and they want him out. He is 13-9 as their head coach when Lincoln Reily didnt miss a beat and led them to multiple CFB playoffs.
Would 13-9 for a big time hire be acceptable to you as a big time program? I suspect no. And I love Brent, but my point still stands. He is not a head coach nor have any of our assistants that have left so far.

I'm an huge OU fan and don't want him out. The team is night and day better than last year. The defense is better than any product they put on the field with Riley there. The starting 22 is as good as any major program in the country. The issue is that just don't have the depth yet. He has a nasty set of guys coming in this recruiting class. Hopefully they have learned their lesson from last year they will mature as a team. Tonight we will know. I fully expect to win tonight and we'll have concerns if they do not. However I think Brent and Oklahoma will be fine

It's because Oklahoma fans are spoiled with great offenses. I would rather win 20 to 7 than have god-awful defenses every year. Brent is transitioning from an offensive first team to have defensive first team.

And I think that’s a great formula heading into SEC play. Once again, these aren’t my feelings. I just gather fanbase thoughts from message boards and intel from my brother in law who lives there

And that’s fine but if you don’t think I have seen or heard is true, that’s on you. I follow dirt burglars and friends/family with OU ties who melt down like we do on tnet and compare everything to stoops and Riley.

Would turn on Brent so maybe he’d return to Tigertown for 2 more nattys before he retires. Honestly think he’ll win a couple himself at Oklahoma.

I agree with you 13 and 9 is not acceptable for Oklahoma fans. However the team and Brent have made tremendous strides this year and I think 11-2 season will be excellent considering where they were at this time last year

He transferred out 30+ plsyers, he transferred in 17 players. He is building and lost only 2 games this year unless hevlost today also. No way people are wanting him out yet if they know anything.
But we did have supposed fans saying it was time for Dabo to move on, 1.5% I guess. Probably same 1.5% for OU too.
So to dumb it down for you, who would want BV fired after seeing the improvement in 2yrs??

Just like our adjustment to a new OC, these kind of changes take time for everyone to adjust. I’m thinking BV will be at OU for a very long time and will be very successful.

Counting the first season against Brent - when Riley gutted the team on his way out - seems pretty disingenuous. And how did Riley do in those CFP games? I think he was 0-3 with an embarrassing blow out loss to LSU. By Tnet standards his program was in “decline” before leaving for USC finish 16th in his final season. it should also be a cautionary tale for any Clemson fan that thinks money can find a better coach. USC made Riley the 6th highest paid coach in football making only $1.4 million less than Nick Saban. They didn’t make the CFP last and won’t this year. With the Heisman Trophy qb that they are paying through the nose for. Riley has lost 8 games in the last two seasons. Dabo has lost 10 and more than a few have the pitchforks out despite his trophy case being far more impressive.

Once again, this is what I’m hearing not my opinion. I did open with don’t shoot the messenger lol. The only thing I agree with is that Clemson assistants have been underwhelming at HC.

at Clemson. By his own story. By the time he was run out of Tiger Town by the ACC and Clemson's administration, he was the winningest coach in college football history by win percentage. Again by Ford's words, he thought he was a pretty good coach until he showed up at Arkansas.
