Does anyone know why we aren't getting 5 star wide receivers

any longer?
Hadn't seen it discussed and feel that it's a legitimate concern.

and hopefully we will nab one soon. Maybe one of our 2*'s will turn into our next Hunter Renfrow. Who knows. Only time will tell.

Look at the current press on the QB position, that ur OL might be stronger than QB. Look at last years numbers. They are looking at the pro dollars but someone has to throw it to them. I think we get back to normal after 3 or 4 games with our new QB.

It's a little more simple

It boils down to numbers and demographics. 247 had six 5* wr, rivals has four. That's not too many for the taking. Usually a couple will be out west (ca. Usually) and they will typically stay out west. USC is always in the mix and typically pull one. Then you have a Texas guy. That's Texas schools, Oklahoma, LSU in that mix. Then one in LA. LSU doesn't miss much in their borders. The ret are up for grabs, that leaves 1 or 2.
In a typical year you will see OHST and Bama pull one. The chances of us hitting on a Texas, LA.,CA., 5 star Wr is slim. Whats left is in Florida. Everyone recruits Florida hard. Thrown there that some are not going to be of the character that Dabo and Co. Are looking for. Ohio St and some others couldn't give a crap about character. So it boils down to just a few simple things.
But what about QB? We've pulled more than our fair share of #1's. We'll weve had high profile QB play since Tajh. We've put up 40pts, 300 yd passing, 500 yd game. What QB wouldn't look at that. Then throw in the character Dabo requires. QB's are LEADERS at every level. As a general rule they are naturally going to be of a different character than your average non-QB.
So my contention boils down to demographics, numbers and character.

That’s just the thing… if I’m a high profile WR, I’d want to

go play with a high profile QB. ESPECIALLY in the ACC against weak competition. Doesn’t make a whole lotta sense to me.

And then today Noah Rogers committed to O31-0 State. Another one offClemson's board. That gives them two 4 star and two 5 star WRs committed. Rogers is from NC and why does he go to O31-0 State? He goes because they have a Heisman candidate QB.
Go ahead and shoot me, but in 2021 the Tiger 5 star QB only showed a 2 star arm making 2 star decisions. WRs want to catch the ball. Not saying anything all Tiger fans don't already know but QB play needs to ramp it up a few notches to get the the WR commitments needed.
Think about it. If TL16 had been QB last year would Ross have been drafted? If TL16 was QB this year and Ross with his low numbers in 2021 (for any reason), would he have stayed or with TL16 would there had been more of a chance that Inniss and/or Rogers would have committed to Clemson? We'll never know but it answers part of the question.

Simple,
Dabo, the President, the AD, the alumni, have not made the commitment it takes to have a winning program. We will have to learn to continue to live with mediocre basketball.
This was a basketball question, right?

That’s why he gets no favorable calls during ACC Basketball Games. The refs HATE his mouth!
He needs to be more classy and quiet like Coach K. Then we’ll start getting some calls.

I'd say a lack of a known quantity at QB combined with a lack of any WR development the last couple of years are having an impact. Its been a while since we had a WR come in and actually outperform their HS ranking and I'm sure that isn't going unnoticed. The good thing is that if suddenly seem to have a QB this season, and we have WRs putting up some good numbers, that can all change quickly going forward.

Our run is over…rather folks want to admit it or not…We aren’t getting guys like that anymore..All the ones that we have gotten outside of Burley are low-level 4 stars to 3…complimentary players at best…Screen shot this post and save it…revisit 3 years from now.

I have full trust in Dabo. He has a history of getting great WR...some work (i.e. Watkins, Andre, Tee, etc.) and some don't (Dion and Ray Ray)...although they weren't bad but not sure they were 5 star worthy.

It'll pick up again next year and year after with the 2 5* QBs we got after DJ. The team still has quite a bit of talent at WR if they can just stay healthy. Ngata and B Collins can be big time opposite of one another if they can stay on the field....along with EJ Williams and Dacari Collins. With a true slot threat now having Stellato and Antonio Williams it should open things up even more. But I think in due time we'll get those big time playmakers in recruiting again. It starts with proven we get double digit TD passes from the QB position this year!
