Do You Know a Korean War Veteran?

The "Wall of Remembrance" at the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC. will be dedicated on July 27, 2022. It is being built entirely by private donations with a large portion of that coming from the Republic of South Korea. There will be a special Honor Flight going from Greenville. If you know a Korean War Veteran who may be interested in this one-day trip, please PM me. Names will be added to the flight list in order of their request. There is no cost to the veteran. Thanks.

Do you know where I might get information on whether there might be a flight from the Raleigh-Durham ares? I would be interested in participating in this event. Class of '50, perfect timing.

If there was an Honor Flight out of the Raleigh region in the past you may want to check with them to find out if they have plans for a flight next July. One of the members of Chapter 301 of the Korea War Veterans Assoc. in Greenville has been instrumental in getting this special flight. Health issues could be an important factor because all of us are getting older.
I don't know what the problem is but I've tried to post the Greenville contact's email address but when I try to post, part of his email address does not appear. I had the problem on this post and an earlier post I made.

Clover---Something must be screwed up. I've never used the "ignore" option and if I did, you would never be ignored.

Wish my Dad was alive to see this. He was injured in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. Bullet wound to the abdomen he never ever talked about but a scar that was always visible. Grateful to those who are honoring the memory of these men.

Thanks for your post, I was unaware that there was a new memorial wall being built. I've always thought that the current Korean War memorial is the most moving one in Washington. All the soldiers sludging through the snow, with the ice dripping from their helmets and beards, just takes my breath away. I'm afraid that many people never see it when visiting as it's set a little bit to the side.

My dad was a Korean War vet. Never said much about it. That's just the way it was back then. He passed a few years ago or we would take you up on your offer. Thanks Joe, for what you are doing.

I wish my 91 year-old Dad was healthy enough to make the trip. He was in the 73rd Combat Engineers.
I’m going to visit my Mom and Dad today. Thank you for your service and spearheading this effort.

Would have loved for him to have been able to go to this. Endless thanks and gratitude to all of you Korean War vets. It's about time you got a "Wall of Remembrance" for your many sacrifices fighting against both the Chinese and North Korean Communists.
