Wow...247 shows that he ran a 4.32 40 even if that's remotely close we're going to be in good shape.

He ran a 4.45 from all I've read.... 4.32 at 225lbs and 6'4" is a little bit of a reach. He'd literally have been convicted of murder by now. Lol

in any event, that's a big dude back there that can pick them up & put them down.

I'm with you man... I've been advocating for this guy for months now. When everyone was crying over Kearse & TJ Green's departure, all I kept thinking was it's Tanner Muse's time to shine... Then Gibson transferred so now it's a sure thing. This kid is as big as Kam Chancellor & George Iloka, two of the biggest / baddest safeties in the NFL. I can't wait to see him play!

If this kid still has that speed at 225pd, He will be an all american candidate before the season starts providing he has a great or outstanding spring showing. His baseball skills will make him a great safety and a great ball hog. Those outfielding skills will help him eye, track, and time the long passes better. Speed plus size is a major wreck when closing on the ball carrier as well. I'm All-In for his vote as a safety if all his status are legit.

Stronger legs and core usually translate to more speed. Especially with a kid who is probably just turning 19. He hasn't ran his fastest time yet.
He's also still working on his running mechanics, speed and agility. They don't just put on weight and quit doing everything else

Lol. Bro I wasn't implying the kid gave up at all... 4.45 at 6'4" 225lbs is absolute all-American, first-round draft pick material... But it isn't exactly unheard of to lose 1/10th of a second in speed after gaining 27lbs, regardless of work ethic. He's a big kid.

I willing to bet Muse is closer to 4.6-4.7 which still ain't bad. If he was 4.37 he would've been a 5 star and the #1 safety in the nation last year.

4.6-4.7? he's faster than that, which he shows in his film.

as for his recruiting, he flirted with pro baseball, played summer league, so he didn't make the football camp circuit. his name started getting out there after his speed training with ADS out of gastonia.
here's an interview from isd-power hour...
http://mike-frank.com/ph/9-11-13.mp3
he seems a good kid, i hope he's ready after a rs to make a difference.

does have a bit of nastiness. His Jr. year he had a bad shoulder and would sometimes shy away from the bigger hits, preferring to ballhawk. As a Sr. he returned to more of big hitter safety.
But, while he is fast, he wasn't running sub 4.0 fourties. He reminds me of Andre McDaniel. Hopefully what we see out of Muse is a Safety that won't be caught out of position.

Isn't his younger brother a monster middle lb? Thought I remembered reading that. Anyone know if the younger Muse has interest from us?

This is my all-time favorite play on any recruit's film. He makes some solid competition look like middle school football.
