Dabo's on the hot seat

My UGA friend told me, so it must be true. Says he's the same as Mark Richt. I said Richt didn't win 8 conference championships and 2 national titles.

My friend says well he had the best assistants. I said . . . part of his job is hiring assistants.

My little twerpy step cousin at USC says Dabo won't be the coach by the start of 2025.

Ryan Kantor says there's nothing flukey about the recent loss, that it's part of a trend.

A lot of posters are angry about the lack of portal usage.

I grew up as a Tennessee fan before going to Clemson. I saw what happens when you fire a guy like Phil Fulmer after a couple down years - things get way worse . . . for a really long time.

Honestly feel better about the team than I have since seeing DJ guide us to a 10-3 loss against Georgia to start the 2021 season. Klubnick is starting to look like a playmaker at QB. Randall and Briningstool finally provided something. Collins finally looked like a #1 wr option against a quality opponent. Tyler Brown and Troy Stellato look like legitimate threats. The defense looked like the type of unit we were used to seeing when Venables was still in town. Need to finish drives better, but we look improved in that area as well.

Looking forward to watching the game on Saturday and seeing how our team responds. Go on a run the next four games, and that matchup at Notre Dame in DV could end up being a big one. Hopefully, Dabo is still the coach at that time. Apparently, he is on the hot seat.

There maybe a lot of HCs around the country that's on the hot seat, but you can bet everything you own that Dabo Swinney isn't even close to being on a hot seat!!!

Collins is FAR from a #1 WR. Very Inconsistent and so far in his Career, he absolutely cannot -or- will not Block anybody!

If Dabo is on the "Hot Seat", then I don't want any part of Clemson athletics anymore. What a really stupid comment by whoever said it!

So you’re saying because he’s won us two natties, that he could coach here 30 more years and only win 7 games a year and you’d be just okay with it?

Who would you bring in that could instantly get Clemson to the top 4 every single season, never not win the ACC, have his kids produce one of the best GPAs on top of everything else? Saban is the closest thing to a guaranteed chance at the national championship every year and not only is there a chink in his armor this year, he's a once in a lifetime exception to the norm. We will never see anything like him again because of the parity in college football due to the transfer portal. Other than Saban, Dabo has been right there at the top and he built it from basically scratch. Relax.

Well to be fair Ryan doesn’t seem to like Dabo or the way he runs his program very much so not surprising

Yeah ... i'm a little leery of firing a legend

Sep 26, 2023, 12:40 PM

see Fulmer, Bowden Sr., Beamer, etc etc etc.

Dabo will not be fired. Wes Goodwin and The Offensive Coache

Sep 26, 2023, 12:42 PM

will be.

it will happen before the end of the season if we lose another game

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it will politely happen after the season

Sep 26, 2023, 12:43 PM

... there is a chance Goodwin stays - but that's only because of Sammy Brown and we shouldn't cut the positions coach of our best recruit.

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dabo isn't on the hot seat, nor should he be.

Sep 26, 2023, 12:44 PM

That's ridiculous.

I have major issues with some of Dabo's decisions in the last few years, but he isn't in any jeopardy of losing his job.

If he strings together a few more years of missing the playoffs, his seat might get warm. But not now.
