I was thinking what would it take for the Clemson AD to even consider this. Now before people attack me I am not saying I think this should or will ever happen Clemson would probably have to start having .500 or below seasons for at least 4-5 years for that to even be a possibility.

I think Dabo has had multiple chances to leave Clemson. The real question is whether he would follow Saban to 'Bama when Saban has to retire. I do not think he will. He has built Clemson to be what he wants and he has his on legacy. If he went to 'Bama, he would have to overcome the shadows of the Bear and Saban. Who wants to do that?

Or which is more likely to happen first: Beamer gets another win against Clemson or Beamer hits fired or Beamer gets takes a job at another school.

I'll offer a "non-homer" response, but the answer is of course "yes". There's always a breaking point (whether that's team performance or anything else), no matter how much of a legend you are. What that point is? Who knows, but anyone with a logical brain knows that that hopefully never to be determined point exists, lol.

I don't think it would ever happen, but if Clemson were to absolutely tank for 5 years or so, he'd be gone. Bobby Bowden was fired and was a legend. Many legendary coaches have been fired. You can't justify paying someone $11 million a year for performance 10 years prior.

It could happen. It would obviously take a lot for it to happen but it is possible. If it were performance-based, it would definitely take several years of mediocre play.
But off the field issues can arise too. Look at Pat Fitzgerald. I don't know if Pat Fitzgerald was involved or even knew about the issues at Northwestern but he was fired because he "should have known". While I like to think something like that wouldn't happen at Clemson, it only takes a few bad apples to slip through the cracks and cause trouble behind the scenes and the head coach is who everyone will look to for accountability.

EasleyTiger1984, I don't think you were called out for simply asking an objective question. The question that you asked was of non sequitur because there's not any news circulating about a Dabo Swinney scandal in which termination would be considered. The only news circulating about Dabo Swinney is the possibility of another National Championship in the 2023/2024 football season. I liken your question to entering an ice cream parlor and asking if they give good pedicures at the establishment. Of course, if someone did that then they should expect some weird looks and probably some scoffs from fellow patrons of the ice cream establishment.
Other than that, feel free to ask relevant questions regarding current events at Clemson and you'll find yourself getting along just fine on this forum. Anything aside of that and you're bringing a sledge hammer to a pillow fight and it just doesn't mesh well.
