you wanna congratulate usuck on Tigernet??? My focus and concern is solely about the Clemson Tigers and not how every other team in the state is faring.
I personally would be much happier if the state was ranked dead last in the artificial opinion poll in this puff piece because the gamecocks went 0-11 or 1-10---which they did in the not too distant past.

Well hey I remember when our little rivalry wasn't jack to anyone outside of the state. Last time I checked most of our best players come from GA, FLA and NC. Tigrim76 you can think like that but even when we pounded the coots into the ground in the back in our "glory days" we never gained the respect we will get starting this year. For those on tnet who are short sighted and clinging to your flip phone this post isn't for you.

Pounding the Coots into the ground and being nationally prominent aren't mutually exclusive.
We can do both. Acting like that game doesn't matter just because we're winning some other big ones here and there is pretty weak IMHO.

Who said that???? So I should act like we didn't do squat because we lost one game I have seen us win 28 times in my life? Seriously how did you make that leap? Enlighten me because it really is a special skill. Trust me I HATE USCe fans way more then you will ever know but I am smart enough to know what is good for us atm. This game is the only one that matters to me every year and I have never acted differently.
I actually can't believe I have to spell this out for you. In a year where we have a special team where we win the ACC with one loss and win all our OCC games on selection day would you like our chances at getting in to the playoff better with a W over a 0-12 USCe or a 10-2 USCe? duh

As long as we beat the chickens, I don't give two craps what their record is. I took just as much delight beating them when they went 0-12 as I did any other time. When Charlie Whitehurst was completing TD passes to Derrick Hamilton, I wasn't watching Clemson score at will against an SEC team....it was watching Tommy Bowden call off the dogs (or Tigers as the case may be) after the score vs the chickens got so lopsided....and if it helps our RPI (just for example) by usuck winning a particular game I STILL won't cheer the chickens on.
And to set the record straight: I DO still have a "flip-phone" that works quite well. It makes and receives phone calls and was paid completely off long ago...:~)

I have seen every USuC game,with one exception,since 1954.(that's 59 games,and I hate them more now than ever)Let's get one thing straight right now. WE don't EVER pull for the coots in any sport, at any time, and under any circumstances . PERIOD !

It's good, I guess, that people are recognizing our schools and by extension our rivalry. Nevertheless, ranking South Carolina as the top state is absurd when a team from the state of Alabama played for the national title five years in a row, winning four.

Certainly wasn't an SEC claim, if I remember correctly the ACC is home to the reigning national champion and pre-season number 1 in many early polls. It's just stupid to claim that any state is ahead of Alabama right now in terms of college football prowess.
