It is real. It affects everyone. If you hunt or fish this is really alarming.
Sea levels are riding. From Post Courier this morning.

In 1922, the year tide level recording began in Charleston harbor, there were a grand total of two minor flood events (7 feet). In 2023, Charleston experienced 75 flood events that crossed the 7-foot line, including minor, moderate and major floods.

I'm sure that Chinese industry generating all that pollution is not at all a direct result of them being a cheap manufacturing hub for the west's consumerist culture.

People need to open their eyes. The upper levels of government and society are not going to do without their gasoline driven cars, jet fueled private jets, diesel driven yachts, and mega mansions. Check out Al Gore's carbon foot print on his house...

Like social security, etc. Don’t matter the folks in charge will be gone and others will figure it out in the future and/or suffer consequences. Besides, the folks in charge now will point to previous generations for causing issues (if they believe there are issues with climate or social security or borders or name something that is tough to fix) - so why should it fall into the shoulders of the current generation in power.

Anyway houses are to enjoy now. And as far as Biden and Obama buying beach houses - well Marxist communist socialist Dims is stupid in general so makes sense.

Exactly, they've all bought expensive mansions on the beach because they know it's nothing but a globalist scam like covid, etc. etc.

More to that, watched an impressive presentation by a billionaire who used to "buy into the globalist bs" until, as he said, he used common sense.

Banks, Insurance companies don't loan or write policies in flood areas (one example), they are on top of the future, valuations, etc...if they even slightly thought or felt the global warming bs was real, they'd not be loaning money, let alone insuring anything even close to the ocean, etc. but yet they do...case and point the entire thing is a scam. Yet another globalist plot top destroy our freedoms, take away our wealth, etc etc.

To think here we are almost 4 years after the scamDEMic and there's still people believing their TVs and this globalist propaganda...AND...not simply using their own common sense and critical thinking. Because if they did, they see thought all the BS.

Sadly the reason they've not is that the majority of the people only think, know, and believe what the TV tells them. They have zero ability to think on their own - if they actually ever did.

Go ask the banks and insurance companies what they think about climate change and how climate change has impacted their business.

Then deploy some of your ability to think on your own.

A lot of people love their beach houses. A lot of houses get wrecked or washed away by storms or hurricanes. When money is not a concern, rich people have beach houses. Mara Laga will be flooded by the rising tides.
Buying house insurance in Florida is getting to be very difficult and very expensive.
The federal govt needs to stop backing flood insurance.

Nimrod, did it ever occur to you that the flooding issue has been caused by man and not the climate. If you know any history at all, a good bit of the peninsula is built on early colonial garbage.

The old Provost bldg. use to sit on the Cooper River. It ain't no where close to the water now. Could be the "Holy City" is slowly sinking.

I appreciate your post nimrod. I know my share of the peninsula history. I got certified as a tour guide ( back when tours guides were actually certified ) in 1993. Probably before your time. I owned and operated a sightseeing tour company since that time. Sea levels are rising. It’s a fact. And yes man is causing the rise and not that downtown is sinking.

There is nothing to compare it too. The earth could have been where it is now 500 years ago. Point being there is nothing static and things are alway changing.

I do also understand that the US is very small in comparing us to the planet as a whole and find it really naive to believe that changing our way of life is going to change a thing. I guess it just makes them feel better.
Lot of people are getting very rich in this whole deal that’s for sure. Talking to you Al Gore and John Kerry…

actually yes, we are the largest consumer economy in the world. Everything has a carbon footprint. You can point the finger at China and India being the worst polluters, but they are making our cheap disposable crap, so in the end, Yes, we are the ones most responsible for greenhouse emissions.

And unfortunately, being that we live in a consumer economy, meaning that if we do nto keep buying things, the whole thing crashes on our head, which is silly, an economic system that requires infinite consumption on a planet with finite resources. This can only end one way.

Stop voting for AGW fear mongers as a start and start looking for the underlying motivations driving the current popular narrative. For example maybe ask the question “What’s in this for the AGW proponents vs the Climate (Change) Deniers?”

Just out of curiosity, When was the last time the harbor was dredged? My lay person's knowledge is limited, but I guess that since a large portion of the state (and maybe beyond) drains into the harbor from the Ashley and Cooper Rivers that there would be a large amount of silt buildup on the harbor floor. Wouldn't that skew the data towards the sea rising and not the harbor becoming more shallow? Maybe that's way over simplifying, but I don't know.

New Orleans is far worse due to the fact that 2/3 of the country drains through it. Technically there should be no reason for New Orleans to exist, and yet it does through a system of dikes and/or levees which proved to be basically ineffective or insufficient during Katrina.

And just for the record, cities like Charleston, New Orleans, Savannah, etc. were due to be underwater by the year 2000 if you go back to the 1980's and read some of that data. The year keeps getting pushed as we "learn" more and more about it. So.....pardon my skepticism.

Ding ding, finally some critical thinking. Fact is, none of the BS they're selling makes sense and constantly contradicts itself (not to mention their "facts" have been proven to be either manipulated, fabricated, or omitted to make their 'case' - fact is, there are zero facts that support 'global warming', actually it's the contrary, all the facts prove it's BS, sad thing is the sheep don't know the facts because they still believe their Tvs, lol, silly sheep)...which is why it's so so sad how ignorant, brain washed and conditioned the sheep are.
