Clemson has been a dominant team in the CFP era

Its not like we are some random johnny come lately team. Why do we still get such disdain from the masses? Oh well, they can all suck it.

fed the same drivel. WE didn't belong b/c of our conference or we lost to syracuse or pitt and obviously can't compete with the Bama's or Oklahoma's or O310 States of the world. And the day after the big game it was alot of sour faces eating crow. So this isn't new. They always dog our schedule and our viability this time of year. Dabo has countless quotes about how "they'll remember November." If you win then you in. If you lose then alot of others would need to do the same.

It's a great position to be in... I thought about this over the years. Clemson has always had a solid football history and success. Now, it would seem there were some pretty lean years after the early 1950's until 1977.... During that time, Penn State, Michigan, Southern Cal, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State were the face of college football.... For the most part, not many people accross the nation even knew what or where Clemson was.... Playing the Irish in 1977 and Getting Ohio State's coach fired in 1978 I think helped many folks become aware.

Then there is the object comparison of a small school with 9,000 students which is now around 22,000 undergrads or so that competes and can dominate the afforementioned big name schools that have student bodies in excess of 100K and are located in cities much larger than little ol Clemson....

That is pretty impressive.....

The illusion is fading and that can be tough on the psyche

People are trying to understand the difference between reality and the heavy dose of SEC media bias they've been fed over the past 2 months. Happens every year.

Alabama has beaten exactly ZERO teams currently ranked in the top 25. Meanwhile, #10 LSU lost to unranked FSU, and #1 Tennessee hung on for an overtime win against unranked Pittsburgh. A small part of their brain is struggling to accept the logic that the ACC is a pretty good conference. But, no, that can't be right... can it?

ESPN realizes they only have 2 months to push the narrative that every team in the SEC should be in the playoffs. Once the CFP Committee gets to work, everybody is forced to step back to reality.

In football we have not been lil ol Clemson in years. If we're not a power, we would be ranked where we are. Just ask TCU.
