Clemson football 2013; Players to watch
Jan 4, 2013, 1:27 PM

Hope everyone is doing well this afternoon. After capping off one of the best seasons in awhile,I wanted to make a short list of..MY PLAYERS TO WATCH...or players who really need to step up in 2013. Especially if the Tigers wanna take this to the next level. And heres how it goes....
#1- Runningback....In my opinion, this is Clemson's biggest area of need next season. Rod McDowell stands on the forefront of everything. But I can't help but think that someone else is going have to step up in a big way. Could that be new comer Tyshon Dye?
#2-Darius Robinson...actually you could say all of Clemson's corners. This was an area that really underachived in 2012 and will need to step up in a big way in 013.
#3-Corey Crawford...Clemson will need a big time DE to step up in a big way. An every down end. 013 needs to be Crawford's break out year, in a big way. With that said, I add Shaq Lawson into the mix as well.
#4-Stephone Anthony...actually,you could say the ENTIRE linebacker corp, I'm sure. But this group needs to finally figure it out in 2013.For almost 10 years, this group has just been barely getting by. Time to make Clemson LBU again!
#5-Charone Peake...if Nuke bolts for the NFL,Peake along with Bryant, will need to finally live up to their potential.Their time is now.
Finally,I'm sure there are several others. But those are the 5 players for me...Tyshon Dye,Darius Robinson,Corey Crawford,Stephone Anthony and Charone Peake.

more or less leaves Pinion with punting and kickoffs.
Also, Center. We need Norton to come in and have a monster year.

Maybe its gut instinct, but I think Pinion potentialy could be an All American. I heard he didn't get alot of PT simply because Benton was a better tackler..thats somewhat odd,but..oh well. And Norton.. Yea,heard some great things about him as well. #21

The Lawson everybody is forgetting, Shaq! I can't wait for him to get back and make an impact. Also, JJ McCullough. I've brought his name up a few times over the past couple of days. And Vic Beasley

Don't sell Brooks short at RB.
Kellen Jones will be a monster at LB.
Getting Martin Jenkins back will be huge.
I want to see Cortez Davis come on strong.
Hopper is supposedly showing signs at WR.

Man, sure wish we could get Mike Bellamy back

even though, I'm sure thats not going happen-MB.
With Zack Brooks (and I'm sure its because hes a nervous fr.)he runs really stiff, upright and has very little lateral movement.
Kellen Jones is going be a fine LB,hopefully he'll get that group going..
Hopper...you hear he was basicly shut down by Geohagan?

I think Zack just needed a year in the weight room. He'll be a good north-south guy and receiver.
Glad you mentioned Geohaghan. He's another reason to feel good about the secondary. I hate to say it, but I believe our secondary will improve by attrition.
Hadn't heard any negative about Hopper.

Players to watch next year will be:
Blanks(hes going to be a star before he leaves Clemson) Boulware (he will be impactful as a freshman) Ogundeko (looked better than Lawson to me) Kellen Jones (will make his presence felt quick)
The defense will be better as a unit with more time under Venebles. Id like to see Vic put on some weight between now and when the season starts back, then he could be a force. I think the offense will be just fine no matter who stays or goes.
