Within that nutshell might be the answers to why Rick Barnes left. Why Oliver Purnell left. Why we hated Shyatt and then wanted him back.
In the meantime Brad Brownell has stuck around and is the winningest HC in Clemson Basketball history. Yep, I know that longevity has its perks. But he has stayed and I think he has a sound philosophy on coaching, and recruiting within the bounds of not being an elite basketball program in the ACC.
Would a change of HC bring the Tigers up to the level we enjoy in FB? I don’t know but I would vote to stay the course. Go Tigers and no, I’m not JK.

He has the most wins due to longevity.

But he also has the most or 2nd most losses.
I always look at "winningest" as a winning percentage.

There is a history lesson to be learned in "staying the course" .Had Titanic steered a bit farther South upon receiving the first of at least 7 known ice warnings she might have made New York .Maybe not as scheduled ,but she would have still made port.

Funny but not really helpful. I was trying to make the point that even a “very good” BB coach is not likely to excell at CU and a HOF coach might not either. It is college sports culture. And Southern Sports Culture too. We love Football and as long as Dabo has us near the top then we’re happy. I am.
So, you’d like a new(somebody) BB coach to come to CU and turn things around? Great! Make it happen! Come to Clemson and compete against UNC, DU, FSU, WFU etc. Who is going to do that?
Am I satisfied to just be competitive? Well yes and no. We went nose to nose in recent games against Duke and UNC. My whole point is that I love Clemson to be competitive but I don’t feel entitled for CUBB to be elite. If it happens that would be great.
I’m thankful that Clemson Basketball is competitive and in the case of tonight’s game very close to being very good.
Most importantly, for me, the Tiger BB team played their butts off and came within a whisker of winning. PJ is going to be great. Collins and Bohanan are two of the best transfers HCBB has brought in. Good young talent on this team!

In a nutshell, how many people actually expect us to compete against UNC or Duke. But when did FSU, Wake, Georgia Tech, and Boston College all become hot bed's of college basketball. Further more, how do you lose a 23 point lead against a Boston College at home, or allow a Ga. Tech to go on a freaking 24-2 run. And why can't someone else succeed? From what I read Brad is an excellent X and O Man but like Oliver before him can recruit good athletic talent ,but not really good basketball talent. Sure you can get guys that can run up and down the court with reckless abandon, but how many can play solid man to man, or zone defenses, or who can make that extra pass with out throwing the ball away. Again no one expects us to compete against the Duke's and UNC's of the league but there has to be some good basketball talent available out there somewhere. Case in point; in recent years we have had only one McDonald's All- American,6'9" Milton Jennings, who was recruited I think by Oliver Purnell. Loved this guy but please explain to this novice basketball fan how a 6'9" post man is expected to succeed in a run-and -gun offense. If you can explain that to me, then maybe you should apply for the head coaching job.
