CBs comparison between OSU and LSU

Two fold questions... 1) I know OSU pretty much shut down both Tee and Ross. Was it partially due to having Ross and Tee hurt or was just the playing of OSU CBs?
How does LSU CBs compare to OSU’s?

Passing efficiency defense Clemson #1 OSU #2 LSU #7
Passing Yds Allowed Clemson #1 OSU #2 LSU #55
Sacks OSU #3 54 sacks Clemson #17 41 sacks LSU. #? 35 sacks
We will see, but through 14 games the stats don’t indicate that LSU’s pass defense is “about the same” as either Clemson’s or OSU’s.

You obviously don't watch much football outside of orange goons. You'll be unpleasantly surprised.

I would say they are pretty even. They have some studs. We have some studs. Okudah is legit. We have a true freshman that is the truth. Really athletic, very skilled and scary fast. He has 6 pics as a freshman.

Then why do you have the 55th ranked pass defense? Is it scheme or are your safeties bad? Or is it all of those high-powered passing offenses in the SEC West?

Injuries and suspensions. The natty will be the first game we will have our complete defense.. if CU wins, you won’t find us making excuses...like tOSU.

Stingly will best the cb in cfb next year. Not even close. But I still think although OSU had some success, most of it was driven by Tee being hurt and clemson not clicking. I think clemson matches up well with the LSU secondary. I think Lsu is good but need to chill the dbu claims at least this year.

I have no doubt our entire WR corp will play better against LSU. They'll be looking to redeem themselves. We were off, but OSU had great DB's, and LSU's are pretty close.

Fulton may very well be a 1st round pick. Stingley, only a freshman, will definitely be a 1st round pick.

LSU cbs are not nearly as good but keep in mind we lost one of ours for the 2nd half. LSU does however have better safeties.
Your main concerns will be handling their very large defensive line, amd getting pressure on burrow. If you can handle those 2 things you will win the game.

I’ve watched OSU a ton over the season as well as LSU...I’ll say this...
OSU’s secondary was the most aggressive and physical vs us than they were all year. They played Tee and Ross very physical...even on running plays. It was to the point where Ross was almost timid about getting hit.
OSUs secondary is much better than LSU in the sense that their DL allows them to play a much more physical man coverage...LSU will be a tough test but the issue is their pass rush isn’t as good..Coverages will break down and receivers will get or find space..LSU plays man but it usually always bites them in the @$$ and they ALWAYS drop into a zone...this will allow Lawrence to pick them apart. Offensively, this is a great matchup for us to exploit. Defensively is another beast lol.

I would say Ross has been timid about being hit all year. Go back and look at the film and find somewhere where he took the action to someone. It will be very rare.

Plenty of film to get the WRs coached up, as well as our other position groups. We will be a better team having faced the buckeyes.

I don't think T was hurt going into the game. The play where his helmet came off caused something to go wrong. Whether it was his head or shoulder or what, he was dazed and confused after that until the 2nd half.
OSU's whole D was physical like Bama's D when they tried to knock Watson out of the game in 2016. Nothing dirty but very physical. Both times we were able to take their best shots and come back.
We will need to do it one more time bc LSU's D will bring the same physicality to this game.

OSU DBs were very good and physical.
I think they are better than LSU's but not by much. LSU's DB are big and physical, too.
