was promoted from High A Daytona to AA Tennessee recently by the Cubs and pitched for the Smokies on Sunday. He pitched 2.1 innings giving up 1 earned run. He also struck out in his only at-bat. Then again, I doubt he's hit in a while. For those that are interested, the Smokies' home park is less than 2 hours from the Upstate and it's right off I-40. It's a beautiful place up on the side of the mountain. I'm a little surprised that foul balls don't hit the Interstate, although it would have to be WAY foul. It reminds me a little of Fluor Field in Greenville except it's bigger and its facade is stone and not brick.

Scott Weismann also joined Casey this morning in AA Tennessee, he is scheduled to pitch tonight. He moved up from the Low-A Peoria Chiefs.
